I love this song so so much, it was introduced to me through a friend in my college's Japan Club who had shown it to us attached to an ancient amv for Revolutionary Girl Utena (it was apparently revolutionary in the early 2000's for its editing and I kind of agree)
Afraid by The Neighborhood always makes me think of Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad for some reason, probably because it has the same tone as If I Only Had a Heart from the episodes with his ongoing house parties.
I had like entire list of Erisol songs, lemme see if I can find them again... Scissor Sisters: I Can’t Decide Deftones: Prince (Bassnectar Remix) Days of the New: Touch Peel and Stand Ludo: Love Me Dead The Rolling Stones: Under My Thumb Head Automatica: Please Please Please Train: If it’s Love
Speaking of Star Wars Spoiler: lyrics Until now I knew this of myself That if you had thrown yourself down Into the lion's den My brother, I'd follow you in. Perhaps I lacked some foresight But brother, you were so right Sure as the setting sun You can't trust just anyone. That's what you want, but it's not what you're asking for That's what you had, but you don't have it anymore You had it coming. I never imagined you dead But tell me, are you even aware That all that we did, you undo? ISCARIOT, you fool. That's what you want, but it's not what you're asking for That's what you're asking, but you're gonna get more than you bargained for That's what you had, but you don't have it anymore You had it coming. You know you had it coming, my friend You know you had it coming , my brother. You had it coming. Obi-Wan</>Anakin post-Mustafar :D
I've wanted to make a Scourge Sisters playlist since forever, but I never get further than Two Little Girls by Ani DiFranco because nothing comes close to it for encapsulating their relationship.
Oh man, that's so good for them. I've been meaning to make a Scourge Sisters fanmix for like, years, myself, but I've never managed to make myself sit down and pull together a full playlist. But the most important ones would be these: not saying you deserve to die / just saying you deserve yourself yeah well we both know that you don't play fair / I bet you really think that you get me there
lost boy by ruth b. reminds me of timmy turner (fairly oddparents) Spoiler: lyrics [Intro] There was a time when I was alone Nowhere to go and no place to call home My only friend was the man in the moon And even sometimes he would go away, too [Verse 1] Then one night, as I closed my eyes, I saw a shadow flying high He came to me with the sweetest smile Told me he wanted to talk for awhile He said, "Peter Pan. That's what they call me. I promise that you'll never be lonely." And ever since that day... [Chorus] I am a lost boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run, lost boy," they say to me, "Away from all of reality." [2x] Neverland is home to lost boys like me And lost boys like me are free [Verse 2] He sprinkled me in pixie dust and told me to believe Believe in him and believe in me Together we will fly away in a cloud of green To your beautiful destiny As we soared above the town that never loved me I realized I finally had a family Soon enough we reached Neverland Peacefully my feet hit the sand And ever since that day... [Chorus] I am a lost boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run, lost boy," they say to me, "Away from all of reality." [2x] Neverland is home to lost boys like me And lost boys like me are free [2x] Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy Darling, Even Captain Hook. You are my perfect story book Neverland, I love you so, You are now my home sweet home Forever a lost boy at last And for always I will say... [Chorus] I am a lost boy from Neverland Usually hanging out with Peter Pan And when we're bored we play in the woods Always on the run from Captain Hook "Run, run, lost boy," they say to me, "Away from all of reality." [2x] Neverland is home to lost boys like me And lost boys like me are free that is because of how emotionally attached timmy turner is to his fairies, the lengths he'd go to keep them, and how he has gotten less attached to the mundane world as the series has gone by. and on a non-character related note, i get nice genderfeels from how, despite the singer probably being a girl, she sticks with the term used in the peter pan books ("lost boy") instead of changing it to suit her gender ("lost girl"). it's like when people cover love songs sang by people of the "opposite" binary gender and decide to keep them gay, awesome in the same way.
Off-topic but I love those too! I don't personally mind at all when people do change them but it always is nice when they don't. My favourite version of "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" gives me images of a Sweet Polly Oliver being shot in her girlfriend's arms.
Oh, back on topic. The end of any big massively-life-changing adventure story will set Emilie Autumn's "One Foot in Front of the Other" playing in my head.
my fandom imaginings of songs get so complicated, but the gist of this one is the first time with the chorus and the verses after centering around Anakin, Padme, and Luke, and then the second time the chorus plays and the rest of the song centering around Leia, Han, and Kylo
Not a character per se, and only a specific stanza, but the "shape shifter, shape shifter, you gotta quit that shiftin' of shapes" bit reminds me of Amethyst tormenting Greg in Maximum Capacity.
Astronaut makes me think of Mytho from Princess Tutu, possibly from Rue's POV. Because "the pieces don't fit together so good/with all the breaking and all the gluing back".
The Lambs from Twig. We were kings and queens of bedlam We were happy to exist, In discomfort we’d created Though we dreamed of more than this
All of my Winter Soldier/Captain America MCU-verse Stucky feels in one song. "...I'll forget what I've done I'll be redefined It's shaking the sky And I'm following lightning I'll recover if you keep me alive Don't leave me behind Can you see me I'm shining And it's you that I've been waiting to find... ...I wanna be the one you steal I wanna be the one you shield I wanna be the one That your love, that your love Can heal..."
