i really like the undertale skeletons all each having a Signature (Favourite) Food. sans and ketchup, papyrus and spaghetti (which he makes a lot but doesn't actually eat), uf!sans and mustard, us!sans and tacos, us!papyrus and honey... it's a pattern and my brain likes patterns and i like them being weird about food like me (though not in the same way).

so, obviously, gaster has a Signature (Favourite) Food. what is it?

i dunno, actually, but it's a Thing i believe about him now.

and on a similar but different note, dinosaur egg oatmeal (classic papyrus' actual fave food) is underfell papyrus' Signature (Favourite) Food in my headcanon now, 'cause in my headcanon for that au, papyrus is more willing to kill (as a result of the trauma coming from living in the underfell underground and/or whatever mysterious thing made all the monsters assholes there) and so undyne didn't feel the need to stall him with cooking lessons.

 

I saw a thing where underlust sans drinks squeezy mayo, not sure if its fancanon by the creator of the au but its too funny not to accept it imo

and i think there was a thing with swapfell papyrus liking caramel too, somewhere. i don't think i've seen anything for swapfell sans, though, Signature Food-wise.

 

Pre-game, in the periods of time they spend awake post-death, Chara picked up a hobby of naming various inanimate objects with very silly names, and renaming them often.

They drop the latter bit post-pacifist, but not the former, and that is why the couch is called Lord Cushion.

 

Ive seen lasagna for fell papyrus and bbq sauce (which i rather like) for swapfell paps. The poor swapfell bros are such a crapshoot wrt personality though, you could almost do anything for them and itd fit.

 

Also: i headcanon swap!paps is a bit shorter than most papyruses and swap!sans is a bit taller than most sanses by a good 5-6 inches

 

That's not the only absurd name, too-Frisk starts giving things silly names too, but it's easy to tell who named what (or who gave what object a title) if you know they're both there: if it's named after food, Frisk named it. If it's not, it's Chara, unless it references Chara in any way, shape, or form, in which case it's Frisk.

 

i think i recognize bbq sauce from a skeleton pairing name. and now i know what character it was (probably) referring to!

skelly pairing names can be so confusing, once aus come in - especially 'cause at least some of the pairings have multiple names!

au skelly ship fic with multiple/rare pairings: *exists*

That, and the skellies all have weird berry-themed names, and you have no idea who is who.

 

The rus nickname is the most frustrating one ive seen, ive never seen it used on the same papyrus twice.

 

well, blueberry is always obvious!

but... raspberry, cherry, rottenberry, those... i'm really not sure who they are. i think rottenberry is swapfell sans but it could also be a ship name. i think cherry is either uf!sans or bitty uf!sans but i'm not sure.

i've seen that one so far on undertale papyrus, swap papyrus, and a human papyrus.

 

anyway more undertale headcanons: frisk likes to play with people's hands
their family is glad to let them do it, because having them just...very intently pet your hand is adorable and pleasant.

 

cherry is underfell, but raspberry is some weird fusion au that I can't remember, and sometimes swapfell is blackberry, and goddamn is it a mess
you'd think fandom could spend a fraction of that time on undyne nicknames so I could have fishcest

 

broamalgamates? sixbones? paperjam? gradient?

oh yes! blackberry! i forgot that one!

that might be a "be careful what you wish for." after all, the more names there are for the more characters, the more confusing it gets. :P

Paperjam is the result of ink sans and error sans fighting and somehow he was born from their emotion or something. So far removed from undertale at this point i would in no way, shape, or form call him a sans. Often shipped with fresh sans, who isnt a sans either but instead a parasite piloting sans' body

 

omfg underfell and swapfell sans both go by raspberry too, sometimes, according to the results of the google search i just did to try and figure this out

and there's another sans wearing a raspberry outfit that is also raspberry sans

and i think the sans commonly known as cross sans is a raspberry sans too

yeah, neither of those really count as sanses but since paperjam is a fusionish sans and the sansdom is a confusing, overlapping mess, i figured paperjam could be raspberry despite that
