I think after what they've been through, they deserve to have opportunities to be shy and cute and excited. (Shallura for me is such a fluffy sweet and gentle pairing. I just want them to cuddle and comfort each other and be supportive.)

in other news, the guy who last week was all about torturing Shiro is now four pages and counting into writing fic where the food goo thing malfunctions and produces something delicious but hallucinogenic to humans and while everyone else is dealing with their own personal hell Shiro is fishing and chilling in a hot spring

I find it intriguing that even when alone, Pidge still refers to herself as Pidge, not Katie. Might not have any significance at all, but I can have head canons, damn it.

1. Pidge refers to green lion as a girl. It's impossible to say if that's projection, a hold over from English speaking countries where all ships are referred to with female pronouns, or if green communicated this to Pidge via paladin bond, but the last one is cutest so I'm going to head canon this until proven otherwise.
2. Pidge is really good at impressions like what the heckie, that Allura was spot on.

Well, it could just be that the lions don't have manes and so Pidge thinks of them as lionesses.

I don't think it's been mentioned before here, so I wanted to show the thread the Voltron Trash Party collection on AO3! It is not my collection, but I discovered it when it asked to archive one of my fics. I'm showing it off because I hope if more people take an interest in it, it can become a good source for the kind of high-quality awful I enjoy. >_>

(Clarification: not a complaint just curious where the idea came from and why they went with it.)

 

I like it just because it's different. I've seen evil dark elves and evil lizard people all over the place, but purple furry vaguely feline aliens as the main antagonists, no.

 

Well, there's Larry Niven's kzinti, but kzinti are not purple. (And now I'm reminded of Theodore Sturgeon's "The Hurkle is a Happy Beast" which if I recall correctly, was purple though also invisible. Don't ask me how, man, Sturgeon. Sturgeon is all you need to know.)

 

I know it's probably not where the series is GOING with it, but a part if me really wants the fact that Voltron is made out of giant kitties to be related the the fact that the Galra are so feline. Like... maybe back in the day the Galra and Alteans were a galactic dream team, where the Alteans did the diplomacy and spying and sneaky sabotage stuff (Coran mentions working with nano-weapon tech when he was in the space elf military), and the Galra were the up-front military might? So when the Alteans decided to get in on the non-subtle weaponry, of course they modeled it on their big buff kitty buddies!

...again,probably not where canon is going, but I like the idea.
