I have listened to the "Glitter and Gold" amv over and over more than ten times. Possibly as many as twenty. I love it to pieces, even though there's a couple points where dialog/background sound came through where it probably shouldn't have.

Ok, i was just thinking. You know how in the first training scene against the Altean training-bot thing, Shiro has a mini-flashback and completely freezes up? I wonder how many times that's happened in training. I mean, you know they've gotta be using that thing a lot, so I wonder how many times Shiro has had flashbacks or panic attacks when they were training against it. And like, what do the others do in that situation??

 

I mean the bits that seem accidental editing mistakes. There's a bit during the "meadow of spring" segment where you can hear Coran yelling. There's a couple other bits where the background noise didn't really add to the lyrics-scene. The roar bit was perfectly fine though.

 

Ohh. Yeah I think that one wasn't accidental.

 

I think most of them were intentional just not adding as much to the video as the person that made thought they would.

I feel like there has to be porn out there that uses "forming voltron" as a metaphor for "gangbanging shiro". I don't even want it or nothing, I just. can't possibly be the only one who looked at that fucking stupid long sequence of all the other lions getting locked into shiro's ports and thought "someone's gonna write porn about that, or a porn parody of that or something". Right?

 

also, I'm so mad that people can just open the fucking airlock when the outer doors are open. Like, holy shit, let's have some fucking safety measures in place here! Christ alive, just depressurize the whole ship, why don't you.

 

To be fair, the ship was hella glitchy then.

 

No AI should have control over basic safety measures! It should be automatic, you can't open this door when the other is open unless you physically break it apart. Fuckin, never let something with a personality have that much control.

 

I mean, I think the castle doesn't have an AI to begin with. I think the fault is more 'who didn't properly isolate the memory crystal from the rest of the castle systems/who was in charge of clearing out... Magic crystal viruses.'

Ok so I have this theory

Spoiler: Spoilers for original voltron and how they might relate to the new show

So everyone is saying that since Sven died in the original, Shiro is doomed. But Sven was the Blue Lion pilot in the original, right? So what if instead of Sven/Shiro dying both times, it's the pilot of the Blue Lion that dies both times?

 

Spoiler: How about...

Nobody dies except the bad guys. :( I don't like the idea of any of them dying. Not even Lance. But especially not Space Dad.

 

Spoiler: A Correction

No one died in Voltron, Sven was just badly injured and forced to retire. In the original Japanese Go Lion, Shirogane did die, but was replaced by his twin bother. I don't remember if the twin ever flew blue lion or not. It was some wacky soap opera bullshit, and as much as I will make fun of early anime importers for editing out death and violence because THE CHILDRENS OH TEH NOOOOES, that one I think was made better for it because it made no sense and was kind of dumb.

I would be okay with them going through a similar plot to OS Voltron where Shiro gets injured, he has to go recoupe and maybe just retire entirely (seriously, give this kid a break for a bit) and back seat pilots the castle with Coran, while Keith take Black, Lance goes to Red and Allura takes over Blue.

 

Oh my god I'm sad this one just fades out, it's started out so solid then went piffle and there was so much more material they could have used.
