@ZeroEsper What is the case made of? And would it be possible to remove it temporarily for cleaning purposes?

(Witnessed with the smell thing, cigarette smoke does the exact same thing to me.)

It seems to be made of some sort of synthetic leather. It's definitely fake. I cam remove it for cleaning, just not long-term.

I'd try wiping it down thoroughly with white vinegar and letting it sit in a place with good air circulation for a while. If that's not sufficient, some people recommend wrapping smoke-stink things in newspaper and sprinkling with baking soda. If it's really stubborn, some people say it can help to seal it in a bag with some kitty litter.

this is for pleather upholstery but i'm assuming its the same kinda material, so some more potential options. :V i know the vodka thing works super well on getting smoke smell out of fabric at least, but i've not tried it on pleather yet.

Tile grout? How to make nice and white again?

I've had luck with baking soda paste being scrubbed in, and then hitting it with some vinegar water and leaving it to bubble before another scrub and rinse. but i've also seen people have success with like. brand name products, or peroxide, baking soda and dish soap. :o the latter oxygenates the shit out of it and also adds a nice grease cutting edge which might be more useful depending on where the grout is at.

there's more specific measurements people have used (I'm terrible and eyeball it 8D;;) and some other things i've never tried here tho! <http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Grout-Between-Floor-Tiles>

what kind of filfth? Like, crumbs in the keyboard, or sticky gross keys? And do you know if you can remove the keys from the keyboard safely? I don't think you can from some laptop keyboards, though some I've had I've been able to.

does anyone know how to get stains out of car upholstery that's not a wet-vac?

    For the keyboard:

My very basic solution is always to put the device the keyboard is used with to sleep, then wioe it down with a very lightly damp paper towel. That won't get the stickiness out from under the keys - for that I usually take the smallest possible drop of water and slip it down the side of the key so it falls underneath. That said, I'm irresponsible. That said: it does work though

Try a pet stain remover, especially one that comes with a brush head to scrub into the upholstery. Sometimes that can lift the stain.

For laptop keyboard: I would use a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol to get sticky up (when the laptop is off!) it evaporates very quickly which is helpful.

Been trying to deep-clean my bedroom and for some reason it's giving me a low mood. I think it's because of finding all the random crap I don't use and the stress of deciding whether to throw it, combined with the task feeling enormous? Does anyone else get this?

Constantly. I wish I had advice, but I only have commiseration.

Breaking it down into smaller chunks can work well, if it's feasible for you. Otherwise try taking a short 10 minutes break after 20 minutes of work. I usually listen to music/a podcast while i work and that helps me.

I don't know if it will help but if I'm deep cleaning a room (which I need to to myself) I'll break the room into quadrants and then those quadrants into levels. For example floor, surfaces/furniture, and ceiling/high shelves that need a stepstool. If you find something you're not sure about tossing or goes in another quadrant put it there. Sometimes that extra time helps with deciding what stays and what goes.

I've cleaned the cupboards and drawers, now I have some boxes of random junk like pencils and lightbulbs which I need to sort out. Not a fun task :( Tips for that?
