As @LadyNighteyes knows, my friend suggested genderbent Kylo Ren (Kylo Femme?) this morning and I've been WE COULD HAVE HAD IT AAAAAALLL-ing all day. I really want more terrible girl disaster characters, always. Would have made me way more invested in Kylo/Rey too :P
Consider these gendery headcanons: Han calling tiny f!kylo "Princess" and kylo taking Grave Offense alternately trans girl kylo who takes it as a reason to distance herself more and more from her parents I don't have any other headcanons but I do want to share the pun "Kylo Femme" with you Edit: Even more resonance on the "You see him as the father you always wanted .. he would have disappointed you." line. It becomes Bitter Girl Solidarity, in a way? .. The Radch books made me realize how completely differently I read things based on the gender of the characters involved. huh.
I was thinking about ftm Kylo a few nights ago. I don't remember what sparked it but I just had this great image of furious tiny almost-converted-to-the-dark-side Kylo going through early female puberty and just furious about his body and not wanting to talk to anyone about it and not understanding and, again, FURIOUS And him being exactly the sort of motherfucker more concerned with Getting It Off Of Him than health and straight up lightsaber cauterizing his boobs off I have no idea why I was thinking of this in retrospect. (I realize you were talking about mtf Kylo in that post there but EH. eh)
Did Kylo Femme occur to everyone simultaneously or something? Because I was listening to this yesterday: And thought it'd be perfect, but too bad it's a female vocalist. Welp.

In all this talk of Kylux, we are ~clearly~ missing the most obvious, important, and canon Star Wars spadeship.
I braced myself for this post and when I saw the content of it I was like 'no amount of bracing could have prepared me.' What. Th...at... aside, no, really, there is a long tradition of spades relationships being encouraged in the dark side, because it hones determination and power as the two strive to outdo each other, but working, theoretically, for the same goal. It's a win situation for everyone, and keeps their inevitably weird emotional states in the family, so to speak, instead of focused on Jedi or senators or estranged family or things like that. That said, I really, thoroughly will not be surprised if Snoke was pitting the impressive young general and the powerful apprentice against each other on purpose, to make both of them more driven and concerned with being the Best. Yeah it won't be framed in a gay way but I wouldn't be surprised. Ah, kismessitude.
Oh man yes. Like in the current Darth Vader comics Vader is, like, talking to Grand General Tagge who's Tarkin's replacement, and he's talking about how the Death Star and calling it "Tarkin's Folly" because it was such a horrifying waste of resources and personnel when instead you could have built thousands of Star Destroyers with it with so much more efficient oppression and Vader looks at him and is like "Tarkin had vision." You really get the impression that Vader respects Tarkin's commitment to inspiring terror if nothing else.
