cool observation that crossed my dash: Spoiler: spoips for It Could Have Been Great and Gem Drill Spoiler: text version of screenshots So the words on the buttons in the Drill are apparently in Russian. That wouldn’t be too important if it weren’t for one other thing in the show… Russia is basically gone. Most of the map looks normal (Looking away from the part of Africa attached to South America, or the fact that Australia is sideways) except Russia. And Peridot’s buttons are in Russian. Why? (update i found a small amount of translation here)

I'm guessing they'll be worked into the Greg-Connie-Lion portion, if anything. Otherwise they'd have to alter the song pretty heavily. But holy shit that's cute.
Honestly, if both Lapis and Peridot join the gems, I want Jasper to join them too.... that way they can have a rainbow. there are other good reasons for all 3 homeworld gems to join them, but I'm going to go with "so they can have a rainbow rebel lesbian brigade"
there was already a lot of blue in there and i wasnt sure they were still around to be crystal gems because anything could have happened between the answer and present time.
Ok, but does anyone else find Yellow Diamond weirdly horrifying? Something about her design makes me want to scream. Something about it ticks me off as badly designed, or maybe as breaking the visual coherence of steven universe and the gems. And part of it might not be that her yellow makes me think of piss. Like, I don't know why it bothers me so much.
Her face is more detailed than the other characters, which makes her look weird and out of place. And kind of like she belongs in a rageface comic
i don't find her horrifying but something about her design doesn't really work for me, doesn't feel right
she doesn't have the same softness the other gems have. she's all edges and anger. i like her though, especially because of her rage face:
it occurs to me that since she's so detailed, the animators probably don't plan on drawing her very much :( i love patti lupone yellow diamond and really want her and possibly blue diamond to have a song.
