Spoiler: Hit The Diamond Man, Rubies are dumb! But also really cute. I loved all their different designs and quirks and I hope we will see them again. I totally didn't see it coming that they were actually looking for Jasper! This show keeps being surprising in the most interesting ways. It also keeps being really really gay. Sapphire and Ruby were so adorable, even though they almost ruined it for everyone! I really wonder if this episode will be censored or outright not broadcasted in some countries because Ruby and Sapphire were extremely obviously a couple in love. Like most of the episode consisted of them flirting and it's actually a plot point so it can't really be cut out.
Spoiler: hit the diamond LAPIS CALLING HERSELF BOB IS EVEN CUTER WHEN YOU REMEMBER THAT STEVEN CALLED HER BOB IN OCEAN GEM (he said "no prob bob" and she was like. "it's lapis")
oh my god im gonna fucking cry how is steven universe this good, guys. how. how am i lucky enough to be alive in a time when a show this good & unapologetically gay exists.
@unknownanonymous Spoiler So Norm and Lapis have a couple things in common! But considering how uh.... enthusiastic she really isn't about making friends, I'm betting they wouldn't have an easy time chatting about it.
im on my PHONE why am i on my PHONE when i should be on my laptop so i can shout about it properly but!! !!!! Spoiler SO GOOD SO GOOD ruby and sapphire are so good lapis was hysterically funny too oh my god she is So Done with everything i love her also i love that.... ok so if ive understood it correctly sapphire's future vision used to be 100% correct, right? and then ever since ruby happened it's been possibilities, potential paths but no guarantees? i love that seriously though most useless lesbians in existence get it together guys (everyone was so happy to see them! im happy about how happy everyone was to see them!! ) and the human names omg amethyst's here's BACKUP for your BACKUP shit i need to go to bed
Spoiler yep, they do. :D:D:D when watching same old world, there were points when i was like, "NORM, 1S TH4T YOU?" like, that stuff about freedom and being trapped and everything, that was a lot like norm. and yeah, they probably would have trouble. lapis really isn't friendly with anyone but steven right now, after all. i'm not sure how friendly he'd try to be with lapis, though. like, i think tango!norm would be nicer than pre-tango!norm but other than that, i am not really sure.
P dot is such a babe, so good, so proud, so angry, good friend, best girl. Second best girl. Jasper, best girl. They could fuse and be mega bestest girl. Prickly squirrelly giant obnock, all proud and mean and enthusiastic. I'm all twitchy and shivery, good show.
Spoiler: Episodes Shoot, seeing Lapis actually in action is nice. There's something concerning to me about how quick she is to jump at Steven's beck and call (that IMMEDIATE zip down as soon as he called her even though she knew Peridot was there for instance). Thank god the dude's not in any way manipulative. It harkens me back to Pearl and Rose, just non-romantically. Wonder if that's intentional. I'm probably reading too much into it. EDIT: Spoiler: wait shit
rewatching hit the diamond and Spoiler Ruby said they were looking for "the leader of the Earth mission" and yet when Peridot was on the phone with Yellow Diamond she said she assigned her a Jasper, Peridot refers to her as her escort, and the mission was to check on when the cluster was going to form on schedule, which is basically Peridot's deal. She also argues with Jasper to beat up the crystal gems for interfering with her work, and that they can't leave after they capture the cg's. Pretty much all of this implies that this was Peridot's mission, and Jasper was just her guard to make sure she can complete her work, and not... idk, crash land and strand themselves on Earth or something. Is this a weird caste thing where it's assumed Jasper is the leader because she's more highly ranked than Peridot, or is this a dumb Ruby thing? I almost think it's a caste thing, since Peri does tell Amethyst that she should be the leader of the crystal gems. Jasper is still technically the "leader" of this mission, and anything that goes wrong is her responsibility. and I mean, if we are going to get technical here, they could have just gone and done their mission and they would have never known about the cluster and would have blown up along with the earth. So everything that's happened has been... pretty much because of her. I don't think Jasper wanted the Crystal Gems dead. She wants Rose Quartz to face some kind of justice for betraying Homeworld, as if that's going to give her some sort of closure. That's why she wants to capture and bring them to Yellow Diamond instead of just being satisfied with them blowing up.
!!!!! Oh no, I was gonna be a one Gem man, but whoops, here comes Lazuli being kickass and also yunno wow so fucking done, and also P-dot being so so P-dot, and now??? J-dog and P-dot and Lazuli cannot all fit comfortably together in my fan heart.
Barn Mates! Spoiler We've hit a rich vein of Done With Your Shit Lapis Faces. There's enough to sustain the whole fandom through the next hiatus and have some left over for export to "I don't watch this show but these memes are hilarious" territories. Peridot's attempts at friendship are hilarious, terrible and adorable. And her ego has adapted to the new situation! If you gotta be an outcast, why not be the #1 most wanted outcast and new leader of the Crystal Gems? Hit the Diamond! Spoiler Ugh ugh ugh poor attempts at subterfuge make me cringe so hard. Do Not Want. Pity because the rest of this episode is entertaining!. RUBY STOP BEING CUTE.
