You know, my friend and I were just discussing this. Garnet, Jasper, Peridot - all in charge of one thing or another at some point. Spoiler: Hit the Diamond spoilers The one Ruby ordering the rest has one. Even Rose looks to have one in the flashback Pearl has to the Gem War (I always assumed it was eye shadowing, but it looks exactly like the shading on the helmet opposite her).
Spoiler: spoipers they successfully out-gayed the answer good job crewniverse <3 (also RUBY YOU USELESS LESBIAN) I think Hit The Diamond is definitely my favorite S3 ep so far, holy shit. And Barn Mates was fantastic too. (i am so tempted to make peridot's camp pining hearts fanblog. hey @Void can peridot join the rp bullshit)
Spoiler Rewatching the episode and, yeah, right from the start - Peridot is assuming that Lapis' is going to have exactly the same perspective on Earth as she does. But we know, factually, that she isn't, that she is not so broken up over staying on Earth forever, that is literally what the entire last episode was ABOUT. I mean, it's in character, all the reactions make sense, but I wish Steven had figured that out. He doesn't seem to see that Lapis' issues with Peridot are more than 'Lapis isn't giving Peridot a chance because she's grumpy and mean,' or that Peridot's apology wasn't any good! In this case, why CAN'T those two live in different places? eta: Spoiler And Peridot keeps blaming the messed-up reconciliation things on Steven and never figures out that SHE messed up! eta 2x combo: Spoiler And Steven says "You should've gotten to know her before deciding you didn't like her" as if Lapis is judging her as 'homeworld tech #53231 and ignoring that Lapis was Peridot's prisoner who was kept on her ship in a cell and interrogated by her. Like that's not exactly knowing her WELL but it's not like they're strangers or she doesn't have good reason!
Amy is super attractive in her sportswear, wowsa. And so is Pearl, and Lapis. Amy's got the guns, and P's got the competent and serious put-together deal, and Lapis just doesn't gibe a fuck, and it's all looks super good on them.
I'm ashamed to admit I don't get the joke/reference. I mean, I get the Malachite gag, but not who that is or where it's from. I might be brainfarting.
you know the play that jamie put on, where he dressed as the crystal gems? it's him doing that with malachite and alexandrite.
Spoiler: barn mates As others have pointed out, it's not fair to expect Lapis to be comfortable around Peridot right away, since Peri has personally hurt her. Steven and Peri really should have just given her some space. Not that it's a bad idea for Peri to offer gestures of good faith, but she was awfully pushy about it. also lol @ Peridot mimicking Amethyst's Earth-slang-laden speech patterns. "I got yo number, girl!" Spoiler: hit the diamond I bet the reason the Rubies are so unconcerned about the Crystal Gems is because Homeworld/YD doesn't know that the Cluster has been neutralized, so they assume the CGs are doomed anyway. They just want to retrieve Jasper since she's useful and not a traitor.
Holy shit, great eps. Spoiler The human names were the best (Bob and Earl, god dammit), but Lapis was also the best. I'd definitely want her on my baseball team, even if she refuses to run from base to base.
Spoiler eh, i guess that depends on what counts as a traitor in homeworld's books. Jasp did take the mission off the rails. an if she'd just killed everyone and let Pdot do her deal, everything would have gone right as rain. she abandoned the mission, and so the CGs wrecked house and Pdot turned traitor. Jasp fucked up big time. and it wouldn't be hard to paint it as deliberate sabotage.
