An interesting thing I realized: We've been seeing a lot of shooting stars lately! One in the final shot of Pear's song in Mr Greg, one during Stevonnie's race in Beach City Drift. What's a shooting star? Something entering the Earth's atmosphere.
I noticed that too, since I'm conditioned to view shooting stars with intense suspicion due to my Darker Than Black obsession. :::PPP

Desperate to defend or prove a headcanon. At least in this case. You gotta feel like you're fucking legit with trans headcanons because people fucking go WELL THEN PROVE IT. And top surgery just has a sort of Something to it? It's one of the things that come to mind. One of the primary ones.
To change the subject to something slightly less squicky, I've been rewatching Gem Drill and something occurred to me. Taking from what Ruby/Sapphire's conversation implied when Garnet first discovered the gem mutants, ("So this is where they've been - all the ones we couldn't find. This was punishment!" - off the top of my head) the shattered parts that comprised the Cluster are all or mostly what's left of Rose's Crystal army. No wonder they didn't want to form once they realised what would happen! This is what they died for. Spoiler: character McSpoileress Also, poor Bismuth. If she ever learns what's happened to the rest of her comrades...
....okay, not to be braggy or anything, but I...realized that straight out? when they went and got all horrified at the thought of destroying Earth, I realized they couldn't be Homeworld gems, Homeworld gems wouldn't care. they had to have been Rose's army.
Yeah I don't think about things like that a lot of the time. Plot details I honestly just kind of pass up on. I'm better at noticing character quirks and such because that tends to be what I focus on. That and theme.
From my perspective: "we've seen his chest, he can't be trans", and then there is a response with screenshots that it could be more ambiguous, and now suddenly it's super creepy and we're all fixated in a desperate attempt to defend/prove a headcanon. Nobody was even bringing up his chest until it was brought up as a reason why he can't be trans (focusing on the name thing, and the lighthouse parallel). So yeah, I am more than a little hurt for being called desperate and creepy as fuck when it was in response to a point that someone else made. I really don't want to derail this thread with an argument, and I don't want to go back to a topic that's squicking people out, but I feel like I have to say something because that was really hurtful. Still, point taken. That was cringe-y, fixating on his body is dysphoria inducing, and this entire topic is upsetting a lot of people. I won't bring it up again, and in the future I will be mindful of how scrutinizing character's bodies can really trigger dysphoria/squick people. I'm sorry for grossing people out. I really don't have anything else to say so I'm done with the topic unless it's taken to private messages or argument island.
