BTW, I forget- was it ever explained why Steven lost his healing spit in the first place? A psychosomatic thing because he couldn't fix the Geode and his powers are all based on feelings?
I wonder if it might also be like - I think everything Steven healed he loved? Like, rose's tears had something to do with how she loved everything, right? And everyone Steven's successfully healed - Greg, Connie, Amethyst, MC Bear Bear, Lapis, Centipeetle - he had at least fondness for them, or cared about them. Maybe the Geode didn't work because Steven couldn't have sympathy for it.
well, my theory that Steven's healing powers only work on living things is officially busted. that's fine, i'm now totally on board with the "Steven can only heal things he cares about" theory. what a great episode.
Nonliving healing is a cool power though. Giving the limitation of 'must be loved' is a cool restriction, and good thematically. Though I also wonder how complex this can go - if the van broke down, could Steven heal it? I think he probably has as much love for it as for MC Bear Bear, but would the complexity make a problem? ...actually now I'm curious if he actually could heal that plate he broke. Add that to 'BUT WHAT'S HER NAME' to questions I wish they'd answered.

Spoiler: alone at sea jasper is... super intense. like it seems like the past few times we've seen her after fusing she's like.. ready to snap. like legitimately fusion changed her for the worst. like when we first meet her she talks about legitimately respecting the rebels and their tactics and comes across as a no-nonsense soldier. but since fusing she's just been kind of broken. i'm sort of on the fence about whether i think she'll eventually get a redemption episode or just become more of a bad guy. though maybe she'll be a big bad and then become good? sort of the 'ULTIMATE POWERRRRR oh wait now it's gone and i'm finally free...' trope.
Spoiler unf, the way Jasp just fell to her knees and begged. Gosh I can't wait for the problematic porn that comes of that. Seconding you on the Jasp is not mentally alright. She seemed weird and tense, which. I guess makes sense. What's really weird is how she seems to have given up on her missio on killing the CGs. Also interesting- assuming Steven works for Lapie now. Kinda wondering if maybe Quartzes are in a less advantageous position in the gem hierarchy than we'd asssumed. Or maybe that's her projecting?? IDK. Further thoughts- Jasp didn't try and convinve Lapis to take her on after she said no, just lept on Steven. Jealous that she chose this inferior quartz over one that can take what she has to dish out.
