There's no apparent damage from the Alpha Kindergarten, though. It's somewhere in the US, and the biggest difference in North America is that Bugs Bunny finally succeeded in removing Florida.
i'm not saying that the beta kindergarten itself crunched the continent, but didn't they say there was a battle for it? like the beta kindergarten was set up to produce a shit ton more warriors and the crystal gems were trying to stop that— i'm not sure if i'm remembering clearly, though. wish there were episode transcripts.
Some thoughts on the Diamond murals: About the circles around their heads, I think those are halos? They remind a lot of how halos are depicted in a lot of art. Pink Diamond having a much more dynamic pose, a larger halo, and only a single planet raises some interesting questions about her! Ones that I am not quite Words enough to put forth, but, like, dang. Who was she? Also I'm willing to bet that the Gem War and the death of Pink Diamond marks the end of "era 1", and the start of "era 2". Spoiler: Kindergarten Kid Spoiler: for real unaired episode spoilers ahead Peridot can survive being crushed by giant boulders, immense falls, being crushed by giant boulders after immense falls - how hard did Garnet squeeze her?
Spoiler: kindergarten kid 'THIS IS LIFE FOR YOU NOW! END! LESS! SUFFERING!' as much as it hurts to see all the trauma that keeps getting piled on steven, god fucking bless this show for having an All-Loving Hero not just go 'aw gee, maybe we should treat these victims with basic cognitive empathy,~' but get fucking pissed on their behalf when friends and allies continue to throw them under the bus. bless steven and bless this show
oh man I loved kindergarten kid! continuing Bubbled discussion: The only reason I'm still on team "the bubble makes air," even though it wouldn't make much sense for gems, is because in Bubble Buddies Steven and Connie are underwater for a long time in a small bubble and don't have breathing trouble then either.
:/ a bit disappointed by tumblr again, people seem to think that rose shattering pink Diamond when she bubbled Bismuth for the Breaking Point makes her a hypocrite. But like... it seems like rose shattered her as a last resort, and Bismuth was going to make shattering their first course of action to everything. Then again, expecting tumblr to get nuance is a difficult proposal.
P sure my fave thing about kindergarten kid is Spoiler Peri imitating the corrupted Gem made me crack the f up, kudos to whoever drew that
hey, tumblr, maybe having experience in the field is what convinced her that shattering was never a necessary or good course of actio-- oh, what's that, sorry, someone who has done something wrong, whether misguided and desperate or not, is wrong forever and nothing can change that and it should be held against them and used to defame them forever? ok
Spoiler: bubbled and how do bubbles work? Personally, I think the bubble operates off cartoon logic so there's probably not a whole lot of point trying to work them out. Like... being exposed to the vacuum of space literally freezes the blood in your veins and sucks the air out of your lungs iirc. Steven definitely would have died the moment the bubble opened to get rid of Eyeball if he is in any way human. That's why I think it's just cartoon logic, OBVIOUSLY you just need to hold your breath and explosive decompression doesn't exist, you'll just get a little fucked up from the experience.
Spoiler: Pearl and her home world previous loyalty I actually quite like the idea that pearl was a joint diamond pearl. Look at her more homeworld outifits (earlier ones, or ones that would make sense to be from homeworld era) She has white skin, which is a big part of her design (by amount of each colour) (WD) Pink hair (PD) mainly a cyan blue (mixture of BD and YD) a section of blue on her chest (BD) yellow accents and yellow shoes (YD) pink diamond on chest (PD) Next design is seen in the answer, possibly before she had her space suit, possibly after. it has more pink still a lot of white pink big section of blue i dunno. but? possible if maybe not likely
