Spoiler: Various Three Gems and a Baby reactions I was spoiled for Pearl trying to remove Steven's gem before I saw the episode, and I got the impression that it was going to be a lot worse than it ended up being? It was still bad, but I wasn't expecting her to stop on her own. Is the Gems having their designs from the start of the series rather than the rest of the flashback episodes significant? I wonder if they were all poofed or if it's a reaction to Rose's death somehow. What did Rose tell the Gems, anyway? They seemed like they were expecting him to be completely human, even if he does have Rose's gem, and it's pretty obvious that that wasn't what Rose planned for him... I'm pretty convinced now that Pearl was trapped as a gem for a time after the emphasis this episode put on it? It does put her look of horror about Lapis and the mirror in a different light. (Also, Garnet shares my crack theory about Steven! I feel vindicated even if Steven said they were wrong about everything!)
[DELIGHTED SCREECHING] As much as I've been genuinely loving season 4 so far, there hasn't been a lot of plotty stuff, so I'm glad there's gonna be more of that!!
Probably obvious to everyone else, but i just realized that that's Pink Diamond's palanquin. Spoiler: Proof- big images No flowers on the sides The tops are slightly different in these two images, but both very definitely not petal shaped
Notice also: blue's and this one both have that pattern of four-sided shapes. Diamonds. But this one has that gap of a five-sided shape like a star.
...That explains why we're getting "answers," actually. We're possibly gonna learn about Pink Diamond.
The diamonds and Homeworld gems do the diamond logo everywhere. Four corners. But the pink palanquin has a flower-looking symbol that has five sides, like the star of the Crystal Gems or the Universes. Which is interesting. Suspiciously so.
I think it just goes with the flower top? The top of blue diamond's palaquin is a little oval thing and the design on the sides are circles. But you're right, the five sides does seem a little suspicious, as does the flower theme in general imo, considering Rose can control plants.
