Spoiler: room for ruby I looked at vague reactions and therefore had a sense that Navy was going to betray them, but once she got them all on the ship with her I was seriously worried that she was going to abduct them to Homeworld. I guess she had no incentive to, since she presumably doesn't know that Steven = Rose and the Diamonds seem content to leave the others for dead. I agree with the comments that have been made regarding Steven's attempt to force Navy's integration into the social group. Asking Peridot and Lapis to help her adjust isn't a bad idea, but springing it on them like that, and assuming that they'll be happy to share the barn with her, is not wise.
Spoiler: Homeworld weather Most Homeworld Gems so far seem confused by rain, like they're so unused to bring around it that they may not know what it is, even in theory. Changing weather itself is strange. Peridot sure didn't seem to know what to make of it, Lapis whose powers are water-focused acts like it's totally reasonable for Navy not to know, and Sapphire and Ruby bonded through marveling at it. And I remember the colony plans: That is hollow and hole-filled like a spherical web of rock around that light center. They make worlds like themselves, crystal and light. Finely eroded rocks, you get just sand, unless there's organic materials involved. So dirt could very well be not a thing on the Gem terraformed worlds, especially Homeworld. Water used to aid the terraforming process, then used up in some way to get it out, or maybe just tossed into space.
Spoiler: Goddammit, I am too much of a Steven. Ok so, my first thought was that this was gonna be the start of an arc where they get the 5 rubies to be part of the Crystal Gems. Because of course, everyone should end up being a part of the Crystal Gems and seeing the value of kindness and stuff. Then I thought "aww, this poor kid, she's probably the one everyone bullied and is following orders and stuff..." and when Lapis hated her, I went "hey, this could help Lapis out maybe. Seeing someone obnoxiously happy and learning to face that, learning to understand her own frustrations and grow from that... this might be a Lapis Character Growth moment!" When they were in the ship, my immediate thought was "hey, this means that the Crystal Gems will have a ship and they'll be able to get around and they have a pilot!" Hell, even when it was incredibly obvious the button was gonna do something bad I thought it would just fail and explode the ship or something, not like, a betrayal. ...I was disappointed by the ending, because my immediate thought was "dammit, that's gonna really break the team apart over trust issues in the future, especially when it comes to Lapis and Peridot. This reaction of hers wasn't really healthy for Lapis, either." But, seeing how Garnet reacted made me feel fetter. "oh well, that sucks", and move on. Would've preferred a standard, albeit blander, ending but oh well. At least the Rubies will be rescued and reunited and happy. I'm glad for them.
Spoiler: Room for Ruby tbh I kind of saw the plot twist from the very beginning, but personally I was really hoping that it wouldn't have ended that way, because....... it felt way too predictable to me. Almost cliche. I get why other people are glad that it turned out the way it did, but... I dunno. I was hoping the show would do something new and/or different, not just the sort of standard, same old thing of "lol it was all a trick!!" at one point in the episode, when Navy was sort of getting :C at the fact that she couldn't get angry, I was almost hoping we'd find out that she's sort of almost like... defective? Like she literally cannot be anything but happy, though maybe she could've learned to tone it back some. Maybe found something that didn't make her mad, but instead upset. I do agree that Steven should have probably not sprung this on Lapis and Peridot at the last moment, but I am glad that this did sort of develop Lapis a bit more. Poor Lapis tho :C it's ok to not be perfectly well-adjusted
Spoiler I don't think we need to worry about the rubies reporting back to Homeworld. Their mission was to get Jasper, presumably it still is, and they don't know what happened to her. They're probably going to keep at that for a while.
Stevenbomb beginning April 10th! Spoiler A lot of nonspecific "new friends", sounds exciting. And "Blue's Blues"... are they going to try to cheer up Blue Diamond?!
Also, Lion 4 has leaked! (VERY low-quality vid, but it's the best I could find.) Spoiler: lion 4 I got pretty damn misty-eyed, and it was really heartwarming to see that side of Rose again--and heartening for Steven to know he Steven doesn't have to be someone he's not.
Spoiler: Lion 4 Steven. Steven, your self-esteem issues. You poor fucking kid. "Sooner or later, I'm going to understand what I'm for!" D:
Spoiler: Lion 4 Keeps coming around to this Steven is genre savvy enough to know about destiny and purpose and suspect it all, to get stuck nitpicking at details for foreshadowing But it just keeps looking like being a Person is the big thing That no, the gems and their awesome power and all aren't the most important part of his life, his narrative That the human connections are at least as important
Spoiler: Lion 4 My name is Nora and this episode made me keep going 0_0. NO SHOWS UR NOT SUPPOSED TO USE MY NAME
