Steven Universe

  1. I think I might work on a Steven Universe homestuck AU. Maybe. I already have three other homestuck AUs floating around, why not one more?

My impression was that while Padparascha is a type of sapphire, she's still technically a different type of gem within that "class", like how Amethyst and Jasper are different types of quartzes, so a fusion between Padparascha and Rhodonite would probably be called something other than Sardonyx? I could be wrong, though.

If Ruby is a different gem than Padparadscha probably would be, yeah.
(I really want to see, like, a different Garnet tho that would be cool)

You know itd be cool if rose quartzes were specifically made to run the human zoo, and thats why the amethysts seem to not know what to do when the humans get distressed. Every gem is supposed to come out knowing who they are, what theyre for, and how to think. Rose's endless curiosity and joy for new experiences and protectiveness couldve been what she was told to be, and she took it to an extreme.

It makes me all the more curious what pink diamonds values were, if we suppose yellow values structure and strength, and blue values beauty and intelligence

Itd be pretty damn cool if she valued individuality. Itd cause a lot of drama.

it would also explain why one of the other Diamonds wanted to kill her. individuality isn't something the other three seem to support. and if White is the oldest Diamond, as some suspect, then it would make it more likely for it to be her--Yellow and Blue might have been more willing to tolerate it as something she might grow out of, might've been more open to it. but if White was the one who started that entire system, everyone the same and no real individuality? hoo boy.

I still cant get over how they used zircons as lawyers on homeworld, crewniverse did a really good job with that. There was a lot of theories thinking theyd be used as body doubles or higher up management types. Using them instead to decide the fate of a criminal gem is brilliant, given how theyre used as a cheap substitute for real diamonds irl. Theyre probably held to an insanely high standard

Inkblot I'M GOING TO THE LOST CAUSE PIT, MA

You know what just occurred to me?
Not only haven't we seen White Diamond or heard her mentioned, we haven't seen any white-associated gems either (except maybe Pearl). I mean, gems are sorted to their diamonds by color, and there haven't been any white, gray or black gems that I can remember. Or any gems that have a white diamond on their uniform.

What is up with that? White Diamond hasn't been acknowledged by the narrative in any way and neither have her subjects, but she's still on the Homeworld symbol and there was that specific, lingering shot in It Could've Been Great focusing on her mural, and right after that there was that weird room that Steven was curious about and Garnet called it "unimportant" (which, come on, there was no better way to indicate that whatever the floaty-ball thing was is going to be extremely plot-relevent), and there was that white silhouette at the end of The Trial that had exactly the shape of her hair. So there's little, ominous hints, but otherwise White Diamond is being hidden. And the last time that happened it turned into the whole Pink Diamond disaster.

So what I'm trying to say is that I think when White Diamond does show up she's going to bring something big. :D

Smoky quartz is a gray gem, but we've only seen them as a fusion, so they may not exist as an independent gem type from homeworld.
