Spoiler There is a chance (and I'm not sure the promo clips represent what will actually happen in the special--context is everything) that Pearl killed Pink. It's been a theory for a while, but I feel like if it gets confirmed (or explicitly denied tbh), there's gonna be a shitstorm.

Spoiler: further consideration Y'know, thinking about it more and more...I really do not think we can totally trust the promo here. I think there's some sort of crucial context being left out, because why would they tip their hand that badly? ...My dumb theory at the moment is that the shattering of Pink Diamond was a team effort, but like, that's prooooooobably gonna get disproven. :P
Spoiler: mmmm I don't think she's shattered because Steven hasn't been shown to be able to make empathic connections with the dead and we've seen the thought process of living shattered gems like the core and it's not quite so coherent. Either she's bubbled and locked away somewhere or her shattering wasn't as severe as presented, like she's in two or three pieces instead of a thousand. Rose not shattering Pink Diamond but locking her away and not telling anyone would mirror the stuff with Bismuth that presumably happened earlier. If Rose shattered Pink Diamond it makes her a hypocrite with Bismuth, and even though we know Rose is a hypocrite and her objection to Bismuth's plan was shattering foot soldiers, it strikes me that there's probably something extremely fucky going on with how everything is framed. We know there's some sort of shocking twist coming up... we know it's not that Rose is PD, or rather that that is extremely unlikely even if parallels are drawn between them. We know everyone involved is an unreliable narrator, even if most people wouldn't want to outright lie... Garnet's telling of the tale seemed extremely suspect not because Garnet would lie, but because Blue and Yellow got extremely involved after Pink was shattered, so I'm not sure how long Sapphire and Ruby and by extension Garnet was around for most of what she was explaining. She was there when the Diamonds retaliated, and that's the bit we see an actual flashback too, but everything else is flat and stylized both in visuals and how Garnet relays it, which I take to indicate Garnet is merely retelling her second-hand understanding of what happened, while stylistically embellishing to make it more understandable to the off-colors, such as how she starts out mimicking Diamond propaganda. So, Garnet doesn't know anything but what Rose has told her. Pearl knows something but can't say it or even start to say it. Amethyst wasn't there. Bismuth wasn't there. Jasper was around but wasn't there. Yellow and Blue were not there. If the secret was just that Rose wasn't the one who shattered Pink Diamond, I don't understand Pearl's involuntary inability to speak the truth of the matter even to her strongest allies. If Rose and Pearl knew someone not affiliated with the resistance shattered Pink Diamond, it could be used as propaganda against the Diamonds, especially if it implicates Yellow... weakening Yellow's relationship with the other Diamonds would strike a huge blow to the Diamond Authority. If it was Pearl who shattered Pink, Rose taking the blame makes some sense as a protective measure, but Pearl is enough of a criminal to justify shattering anyway. No matter how I twist and turn it, the edges aren't lining up with what we know, specifically with Pearl's inability to tell Steven when she was trying to. If the secret is that Pink wasn't actually shattered, absolute secrecy makes a lot more sense, since that has wide-spread ramifications for both the crystal gems and the diamond authority and would make Earth a priority target as Blue rips the planet apart trying to find Pink. We've seen Blue's shrine to Pink... wouldn't that include her shattered gem if the body had ever been found? It also draws a parallel to Blue Diamond keeping the Rose Quartz' bubbled and unconscious but intact while Yellow wants to shatter them. EDIT: Hell, Steven himself wonders why Rose would imprison Bismuth for wanting to shatter gems but then shatter Pink. Maybe Rose was being hypocritical, but maybe she did the same thing she did to Bismuth.
Spoiler: something i just realized AND that makes it possible for Rose's sword to have been the weapon used, even though it can't shatter gems! Damn, I love this theory.
Spoiler Hell, by making it so known that Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond, Rose Quartz keeps people from seriously looking for her potential bubbled diamond... it's possible it's not even hidden on Earth but in a pocket space like Bismuth was. If she'd go that far for Bismuth, she'd definitely do so for Pink.
Anyway it's not a sure thing but I think that angle has a lot more support than the angle a lot of theories are going at it from, since the show has deliberately been contradictory on stuff relating to the other angle.

Spoiler: wait do we actually know when Blue first became involved? like....WAS Pink shattered by then? do we know that for SURE? cause I always assumed, given how together and fine Blue Diamond seemed when Garnet first formed compared to the present day, that Pink hadn't been shattered yet at that point, but was maybe shattered soon after--but just that Garnet wasn't actually there, and that in fact maybe the only Gems there at all were Pink and whoever shattered her. ...also, the dude who makes Crystal Clear made an interesting point: as of now, Pink is getting more merch of JUST her than literally any other Diamond has, or for that matter any other character who's not, like, a Very Main Character has. like, she's got a Funko Pop thing, she has a t-shirt of just her....it's a lot for a character we've only just met, comparatively speaking. I'm...not sure it means SOMETHING, but I am also not totally sure it means nothing?
Spoiler: ....thought we still don't know what is in the chest inside Lion. what if whatever is in there is connected to Pink, somehow? ....look I just really wanna see what's in there, or at least know if it's straight-up empty

Here's the deal: the leak was only a few seconds, and it was from a fucking official CN video, which has since been taken down. A leak of a few seconds wouldn't be too big a deal...except that there's some MAJOR shit going on in those brief clips, major enough that I can't say any more without spoiling things. Yeah.
