Okay, Im a day late but now I saw the episode. My turn! Spoiler First of all, I love the Pebbles. They are smol and adorable and very helpful. They're very clearly an underclass of Gem, if they're considered Gems at all, but they seem to have full intelligence and demonstrate shapeshifting ability, so they may have other standard Gem powers as well. Seeing more of Yellow and Blue when they're alone with Steven/"Pink" is nice. I hope this trend continues over the next few episodes. Yellow Pearl and Blue Pearl are nice, too. Yellow seems pretty courteous to Steven, and her going along with whatever he wanted her to call him was funny. Blue Pearl was saying "welcome back" to Pearl?? that honestly surprised me, I thought that would be like. Directed at Steven after he woke up from a nap or something. Pearl is wonderful in this episode as always, and sneaking the others into Pink's Chamber through her gem was brilliant. Other people have already pointed this out, but that's a good tactic for a rebellion/sneak attack/assassination, etc. Also, I think we may already know what "extraction" is. In this episode, we see the following: 1- Steven and Pink meet at the extraction chamber. 2- Yellow "sweating" something that is collected into a diamond-symbol receptacle. 3- Yellow is then called off to monitor the production of Citrines. 4- Steven and Blue meet in a large pool, which may be another extraction chamber (not confirmed). 5- All the water is sucked down into a diamond-symbol drain. 6- Steven cries, producing liquid, which lands on a small rock. The rock, previously motionless, suddenly has a face and starts moving and changing shape. From this evidence, I present the following theory: "Extraction" is the production and collection of Gem-Making Juices from the Diamonds. The GMJ creates life. This is the stuff they put in the Injectors in Kindergartens, because even if they need raw materials from the colony worlds, they also need the GMJ from the Diamonds to create Gems. Yellow and Blue produce theirs as sweat, while Pink produces it as tears, and White's method of production is currently unknown. This is also the source of Pink/Steven's Healing Lacrimal Essence. When used on something that's already alive, or recently deceased, it "improves" their condition instead of creating new life entirely. Either I'm reading way to far into this, this is a red herring, or I'm actually on to something here. Spoiler: Together Alone Connie wise tho since she'll definitely be talked about in fandom spaces I'm like passive about it and it moves the story forward so, shrugs! Theres several ways to approach it lol so I'll try that Conflict wise, she's the one who pushed it, one who least knows about gem stuff and doesn't really at least casually witnesses it, unlike steven who's picked stuff up like that from living with gems and experiencing all the gem stuff Its not sensible and kind of a dumb move haha - she could just have been focusing on steven and giving him the best support she knows how, by being his friend and leaning in to stuff Steve o usually enjoys, having fun and living life (especially cause the other gems are trying to keep still and support steven in that way) - the suddenness of it is probably a pacing issue, more build up on connie's actions could have been done but it probably feels rushed so other folks might be shocked or whatever Anyway partially related to all that, here's some wild thing I encountered on YouTube comments of clips of this episode Spoiler: Cw Amethyst/Steven I'm snrking cause its hilarious to me, but someone made 2 short essays in the comments about how - they hope that when connie sees steven and amethyst can fuse connie will get jealous and spark a love triangle between ame/steve/connie, and how Amethyst has grown so much and is a great match for steven - how steven/connie is the worst ship and how connie is terrible Its just??? So wild and kinda just a connie hate thing, i dunno if its a troll or not cause they do talk about Amethyst's character arc etc but it's just kinda weird and amusing to me if this is what they want from Diamond Days
