Yeah, it's not specifically that she's bad with people, it's a certain kind of bad with people. Edit: will word that better later upon request, low on words rn
So uh. Did you guys hear about the accidental preview leak? Spoiler MY BABY IS COMING BACK. My baby does not seem fond of peridot offering gifts. My baby apparently did not get poofed when Malachite defused? What is going on.
Spoiler: leaky leak Kinda wish I hadn't seen that clip, I usually avoid leaks when I know they're around and it would've been a good surprise. Oh well. It'll be cool to see her again, and good that she (and Jasper) will be getting out of that miserable situation. I wonder where Jasper is at the moment shown in the clip. Not on the loose, hopefully.
Ooooh snap crackle pop the preview I saw for the next episode did not reveal that! Although it was pretty great. Spoiler and I am really getting the feeling that Peridots are the Pearl 2.0, now with more gadgets! Like a swiss army knife instead of a coat rack. Which is a thought I've been having since Pearl could control the ship. But upon further though, does make A LOT of sense given Pearl's skill set for things like holograms, building things, memorization, etc. I mean, Peridot definitely gives Pearl a run for her money in the "unhealthy attachment" department and that is saying something.
On the aspie quiz, one of the things it asks is if parts of songs get stuck in your head and loop over and over again. I can't remember what the answer would indicate (though intuitively, I think that would be indicative of the autisms) you know where this is going right? because ever since I watched the episode my brain has been on auto-loop: Life and death and love and birth and peace and war on the planet earth and occasionally for variety it will start looping on other parts of the song, like: C'mon and sing it with me. Sing? The words relate to the key. Key? and almost ironically It's a pattern! It's a pattern! Oh well, at least it's a nice song and it doesn't get annoying. I wonder what the science behind it is. I know ear worms are a thing, but I wonder specifically about parts of songs repeating over and over again, and if and why it's a sperg thing.
@Alska Spoiler Ooh, I had been wondering why it was so easy for Peridot to pick up music so quickly. That makes a lot of sense.
I get that too! I rarely get songs running all the way through stuck in my head. (I've had the first verse to Answer by TMBG stuck in my head ever since the title of The Answer was announced...even though the song itself is a deeply (and intentionally) creepy stalker song. A catchy one, though! :P Kinda contrasts with The Answer's portrayal of an adorable Disneyesque romance, haha. (I'M STILL NOT OVER THAT OKAY)) And it's often a pretty arbitrary part of song, too. Usually it's the first part, which makes sense, but sometimes I'll get the middle of a song stuck in my head and it's like...what. Definitely guessing Sperg Thing myself, since the repetition thing also seems to be a Sperg Thing, but I could be wrong. Shruuuug!
pretty interesting, since I don't do echolalia when people talk and stuff but I get parts of songs stuck in my head sometimes, and other times if I'm by myself and I have part of a song stuck in my head I'd start humming it or something.
So I finally caught up on the last two episodes and geez. Spoiler: It Could've Been Great So, I found the hollowed-out Earth really horrifying/unsettling for reasons I can't quite figure out. The closest I can get to it is 'the same sort of horrifying as when That Thing happened in Ava's Demon' but that's not quite it...
Just watched Message Received. Spoiler EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PERIDOT I LOVE YOU When the Diamond Communicator Thingy was activated I was making the exact same face as Peridot, lol. It's funny how Yellow Diamond was built up as this epic mythological figure and then when we finally meet her she just comes across as a cranky government official. Good lord is she tall, though. It seems like Yellow Diamond's desire to see the earth destroyed comes from a personal animosity. Which is interesting, since apparently it was Blue Diamond who was in charge of the initial failed attempt to colonize the place. I wonder what Yellow's beef is. Peridot's appeal to Yellow Diamond was based on the presumption that she is as Peridot described her at the beginning: a wise, rational decision maker. Yellow's proclamation that she "doesn't care about resources and opportunities" was what really shocked Peridot. It proved that her leader doesn't share her values, the values she thought that leader embodied. ACTUAL CRYSTAL GEM PERIDOT EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
