YES. Meanwhile I am Jaspidot shipping trash, and wow the Jaspidot tag has a lot of porn. I'm not complaining though. I am about as sexual as a paper clip and a rubber band so it doesn't really do anything for me but I am pleased that artists can draw whatever the fuck they want without being harassed like other ships are (at least that I know of?) Trying to think of a Jaspidot fusion... I think they would work well together, but the combination of their personalities might be uh... Well, you have Jasper's temper and aggression and Peridot's obsessive tendencies and both of them are super stubborn and really confident. Pretty sure that personality combo would make Sugilite look mild mannered.
.... I laughed. Well, I am pretty sure at the very least she would be less swole I am picturing an Avatar Korra kind of body type (when the animators remember that she is ripped).
And some specimens of Sphene/Titanite, which is what I used for my gemstuck Davepeta, on account of the other options are insufficiently garish.
I could imagine Peridot + Jasper = Heliotrope, just for the red and green combo. Or something weird like one of those picture agates that kinda look like a wooded landscape... I could see them being really unstable, though, you're right. They would make Sugilite look perfectly sane and rational. (-pictures Heliotrope stealing the drill and fucking off to the centre of the earth to kill the cluster with their bare hands- XD) EDIT: ninja'd on the Bloodstone/Heliotrope front XD
I think they would be stable in the sense that they might not fall apart like alexndrite and like malachite (tried to), but they would just be really difficult to handle

I had a dream where the Stevenbomb featuring Barn Mates was announced and so that's clearly an indication that it's time to babble about my hopes for a Steven/Lapis fusion, right? Spoiler: Aqua Quartz I can't get the gemsona maker working, please use your imagination here. TLDR: blues-and-cool-tone-brown color scheme, smallest fusion ever (shorter than Pearl, taller than Lapis herself). Hair basically like Lapis' but curly, a really dark blue. Skin is that cool tone brown; build p similar to Stevonnie's but smaller. Outfit is still the crop top + skirt combo, though the skirt is now over jeans and the top has teeshirt-style-sleeves instead of none, though it still has the open back w/ ribbon at the top. Skirt's a bit shorter; has Steven's sandals, in blue. Everything is blue. In place of the divided diamond on Lapis' outfit, there's a divided star carried over from Steven's shirt. Basically the idea behind this was that Lapis isn't willing to listen to what Steven says with words, and the idea expressed wrt rainbow quartz that the Crystal Gems, at least, didn't apparently talk to explain different perspectives; they fused to share them. Steven can't get Lapis to listen to him the way a human would, so he tries to approach it from the Gem angle and show her that he doesn't want her hurting herself for his sake, and also that Earth is, you know, actually kind of great. Also, water shields. Super incredible water shields. Also I chose Aura Quartz - and specifically Aqua Aura Quartz, because, you know, Lapis and water - specifically because it's a manmade quartz. Stevonnie is basically two humans with a touch of Gem, and so gets a name smash; Aqua Quartz is two gems, but with a touch of humanity, and I thought picking a manmade (or at least man-altered) stone was a neat way to reflect that. ...I hope that if Steven does fuse with a Gem, it's Lapis or Peridot; everyone else is too Rose Quartz Issues, or, well, Jasper. #incidentally if we get a stevenbomb announced for the week including Feb 25 #you heard it here first

oh geez I spent the whole day reading SU meta on tumblr and I am having so many thoughts and feelings
mostly going through this person's tumblr in particular I like their theories about Jasper having PTSD/war related trauma, and how she's a lot more anxious than her initial appearance would have you believe. Also I really, really like their analysis of Lapis and Malachite (that I don't have the link too), because it highlights Lapis's flaws that the fandom tends to gloss over, while also highlighting Jasper's flaws, which a lot of Jasper fans gloss over (or at least a very vocal minority that I encounter when I go into the tags). I really hate the way the SU fandom splits on characters as either abusers or precious cinnamon rolls so seeing a more nuanced take on them is very refreshing. some of their theories and headcanons are hit-or-miss but I am digging their chracter analysis
