I don't know how much proper retreating went on from the earth war. a Kindergarden on antoehr planet, yeah, I an see that, but not a earth native stone, if you will, like Amethyst. After all, Kindergardens are a proven concept. They've hollowed out worlds before. Jasper could be even younger than Amethyst. Born into a conquest on another world, is successful and masterful and incredible, learns of a failed conquest and becomes fascinated by it.
Nope! She says she was there for the "first" war for earth (there was more than one?!) so, it's totally plausible that she was born on another gem controlled planet, but she at least fought in the war for earth. We won't know one way or another where she was born until there is more screen time or backstory because there is no evidence one way or the other.
Whoops, didn't reccall that. Ah, 'need more data!' the failing point of many a theory... well for me.
It's ok! I went back and rewatched The Return and Jailbreak because it's been a long time and I wasn't sure myself xD
well, I originally rewatched it because the character analysis on tumblr can be sketchy sometimes... and I wanted to remember what Jasper and Lapis's personalities are actually like (also very cool to see Peridot's character development too!) I might have to start rewatching the whole series from the top if the hiatus isn't over soon. I need my SU fix. There are a lot of great episodes I havn't seen in awhile and/or only watched once.
I've...done a lot of marathoning the show in the service of getting other people hooked, but I don't think I've ever gone back and just watched my favorites, or just watched for character analysis. (Liminal, have I thanked you for linking that blog? The quality of their analysis is just great--I love the way they bring in nuances from colour, and character design, and body language)
Some Jasper thoughts, specifically re: The Return: Look at what she accomplishes once she takes the engagement seriously. She immediately orders a fire barrage that scatters the enemy and breaks their formation. Next she blindsides their fusion - presumably their most obviously powerful fighter - and removes her from the battlefield. Then she captures the enemy leader, probably knowing that she can use the Crystal Gems' absolute loyalty to Rose Quartz to force them to surrender. She's a frightfully effective soldier.
My human headcanon for Jasper is she goes to the gym contoured to high heaven and dares someone to comment on it
All the regulars have learned better by now, but watching how newbs and scrubs react is a popular spectator sport.
My human version of Jasper will forever be the college student who taught lead in ballroom dance today. Strong, tall asian girl with broad shoulders who also rocks high heels while leading tango. (I may have had a crush on the dancing instructor someone help me 3: )
Re: Jasper's eyelash game, consider the following: PERIDOT: Jasper, why are you wasting your time with that...weird eye gunk?? JASPER: IT'S ROSE QUARTZ, PERIDOT. I HAVE TO LOOK HOT FOR HER. Just. Jasper being pitch as fuck for Rose and making sure her eye makeup is absolutely on point because SHE HAS TO BE HOT FOR HER BLACKROM CRUSH.
I may or may not actually have an Amethyst RP blog. #legit flattered tho this is going on my testimonials page good
Because jasper would be an utterly massive blue blood, even before her adult molt I think. Oh and I can do parallels with home world being condie's fleet and the crystal gems being a group of sufferers and !!!
