8 GB RAM seems to be the standard these days or at least when I last looked at laptops. It might be a split between 4 and 8, but getting 8 should not drive up your price a lot.

I dislike Asus because mine started blue screening within 2-3 months of getting it (win10 update, but the hardware can't run it properly, but no one warned that could be a thing), but they were going to make me send it back and forth three times before I'd be able to get it replaced. There was also a bit fighting with them because they almost didn't want honor the warranty because of where I got it? I don't remember.

I've been using it anyway and blue screen happens less and less (I just gotta remember to fully shut down every couple of days), and I just keep everything important on the cloud so I don't lose everything when I inevitably have to do a reset.

Verdict - computer = not bad as long as your OS is actually supported by the hardware (so probably not an issue for buying something new). Customer service = terrible

(Edits - why can't I type anything right the first time)

I have no idea but I would strongly recommend talking to a doctor type. Try looking for a free clinic or something with a sliding scale if you don't have insurance

I had something like that. Just purely physical tension I mistook for anxiety at first, but it had no apparent connection. For me it was a vitamin B6 deficiency. If that’s it, it will be very simple to treat, but a doctor is a very good idea.

Thirding the doctor thing. It might well not be anything serious, but it's better to know what it is so it can be treated!

Also, a question of my own: does anyone know if I'm allowed to use my wireless headphones while on an airplane? I'm going on a long plane trip in November and I wanna listen to my music, but since my headphones use Bluetooth to connect I'm not sure they'd be allowed...

A quick search tells me its probably ok but you should check the airline's policy because some do and some dont

Thanks! I'll have to check the individual policies at some point after I get my plane tickets (which I think is gonna be sometime this weekend or the next?), but I will def do so then. ^^

Does anyone have any suggestions for image hosting sites that allow nsfw? I usually use imgur but their rules are a bit vague on the subject.

@Acey last time i flew, there was no prohibition against wireless headphones... but i did have to put my phone on airplane mode, which turns off bluetooth, so i could TURN ON my headphones but then not connect them to my phone. -_-

I flew like two months ago with British Airways and the flight attendant specified that your device should be in airplane mode during takeoff and landing, but once you hit cruising altitude you can turn Bluetooth on (if you can turn it on and keep your airplane mode still on, which I'm able to do on all the Android phones I've had, but I can't speak to Apple).

I have an iPhone, so I'll have to look into whether that's possible...

I've used my wireless headphones on the plane before. But yeah, you have to be in airplane mode and then turn bluetooth back on

I need bed railings that run most if not all of the length of a bed (twin size). The ones I can find online are either too short (length wise) or look super medical or both. Does anyone have recommendations of products or where to look?

Wood or metal are okay, and as long as the height is taller than a regular mattres that will work. I just don’t want to feel like I’m in a hospital

    Thanks!

I'm fat, but I'm also just generally large. I can feel my bones in certain places and know that I'm not ever going to get down below a certain size; my shoulders are broader than my father's, and I don't think it's possible to lose weight from there. Problem is, it's REALLY hard to motivate myself to make adjustments to my diet and exercise when I feel like it won't do anything. Obviously it will do something, but because it can't turn me into a twig I feel it's "not enough". Any tips on getting over this kind of mentality? Should I focus on using my size to my advantage and building up muscle? That might help with my gender feels too.

It might help to reframe your goal to something not related to body shape? There's lots of other things getting more exercise might help with, so, say, pick a target like "be able to bench-press X weight" instead. Or "be able to swim X laps before getting tired," or "run a X minute mile," or something like that that's appropriate to whatever form of exercise you're aiming for. It'd be more concrete, easier to track your progress to it, and a little less subject to the random vagaries of biology.

Okay, found an affordable personal trainer, and decided I'm going to work on building strength and flexibility and fixing my posture rather than worrying about weight.

I do know a couple of afab people with as-yet undefined gender feels who have experienced quite a bit of personal satisfaction from training upper body strength in particular. Heck, so have I. Feeling strong does good things for my self image. Flexibility is a really good complement to strength training. Seems like a great plan! I wish you well!

Yeah, I have flimsy little T-rex arms so I wanna work on that too. Posture's important as well because my back is totally fucked up, and flexibility because it's improved a little with my dancing but not enough to keep up with the rest of the class very well so I need a boost.
