Ohhhhhhhh oh oh oh oh @PRelations, I saw your post in the kink thread about corset piercings. And consider: A 'bot with subtle little studs up and down each thigh, pretty hard to notice unless you're looking for them. Except then when things start getting sexy, you swap out the studs for rings and corset lace their thighs shut. This is happening. It's not a question of if, but when. I'm taking ship nominations, because I haven't settled on anything yet (leaning weakly towards dratchet, but nothing is set in stone). I want this so badly and it's the kind of thing I'd have trouble suspending my disbelief enough to write with fleshy meat creatures, I need this so bad, and it's going to absolutely happen.
Off topic but: I am still disappointed in Transformers Prime for dropping the June and Optimus thing. Think of the angst you could have caused us!
-fans self- Dratchet would be nice but my brain keeps insisting that Starscream would be so utterly, deliciously, desperately into something like that *SHRUG*
okay I have a question one of the most jarring things in Prime is that OP keeps retracting his dumb faceplate, does he... does he keep doing that? bc that might be one of the things that makes me most unwilling t give the third episode a chance >_> (IDK man Arcee being Arcee is a pretty good argument FOR the show and Ratchet is p damn funny (even if he isn't quite as sarcastic and cynical yet, but the facemask thing is just so utterly ot-my-thing. Cmon Optimus you look pretty cool with the mask. Without it, just. no.)
Well, yes? But he's also supposed to be more vulnerable and younger seeming in Prime. Just keep watching, it'll hook you with the emotions soon enough.
The faceplate retracting is definitely a thing that keeps happening. I didn't actually mind it too much, actually because of the lack of noses. It isn't quite the same generic face you get on him in the comics. I'm not articulating this well. But even without the faceplate, he's very, like, serene and restrained, and it ends up working well. And I have mixed feelings about the first few episodes! While they've got a pretty epic scope, it definitely feels kinda... formulaic? That isn't quite the right word, but it doesn't feel terribly fresh. Once the show REALLY gets going, it's packed full of great character moments and covers some SUPER interesting ground. I love the show a lot. (and I especially have a lot of feelings about Starscream in this continuity. Even if he's more cringing, less I-spent-many-hours-practicing-how-to-look-leaderly, his character deals with some interesting, interesting stuff and gives me a LOT of emotions. I love him dearly. The Nostalgia Chick actually did a little video comparing various animated iterations of Starscream, and she thought that this was hands down the best (animated) version of him) (actually, while I'm at it, here's her old, old review of the 1980s animated movie. I didn't know anything about who she was talking about for years, but now I look at all the characters they're killing off, and it's just DDDDDDD: DDDDDDDDDDD: DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:)
on the other hand I just realized that some stuff i was annoyed by like "UGH i don't really like 'scream's voice" or "Goddamn that catchphrase is lame" is literally a Dub problem so i might try again in the english version and see if maybe I just got put off by details *shrug*
ask @meowtini on the rocks her thoughts on the arc she thought we were going to get with Starscream in Prime sometime. XD
hmmmmmmMMMM okay I mean I trust y'all having good taste so I'll just see if our VOD thing allows me to watch TF:P in the original language so I don't have to live with what is most likely the most terrible translation of the phrase "Autobots: roll out!" ever (seriously no. "Autobots: On your wheels!" is an awkward and terrible translation when the verb "ausrollen" (to roll out) ACTUALLY EXISTS IN GERMAN) (I mean unless I am mislead by context clues and inflection and in that case OP doesn't actually say, oh, just one of the most iconic Transformer phrases ever.)
Today, on "things I never thought I'd look up": how the fuck do robot butts work? There is a disappointing lack of robot butt onscreen, probably because butts are not the focus of most sfw comic action... but goddammit is it so hard to throw in a full-body back view. I need 3d reference, people :P
But damn are there a lot of nice crotch shots. Also I have found you some butts ' and have a g1 Arcee butt
I LOVE YOUR BRAAAAIN (I could feel it with Dratchet but consider the following: Starscream/Wheeljack where Wheeljack's actually the only person he could trust not to take violent, violent advantage of that)
Here is a somewhat interesting interview with JRo. Of note is a discussion of gender re: Windblade, Nautica, Arcee, Tailgate. Also discussion of agency re: the Senate and Trepan and Whirl and Shockwave. I haven't finished listening to the interview so I can't tell you all of the highlights.
