Okay but this song fits very well for Starscream, Metalhawk and Bumblebee in the early stages of governing Cybertron Spoiler: lyrics "Team" Wait 'til you're announced We've not yet lost all our graces The hounds will stay in chains Look upon Your Greatness and she'll send the call out (Send the call out) [15x] Call all the ladies out They're in their finery A hundred jewels on throats A hundred jewels between teeth Now bring my boys in Their skin in craters like the moon The moon we love like a brother, while he glows through the room Dancin' around the lies we tell Dancin' around big eyes as well Even the comatose they don't dance and tell [Chorus:] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air, so there So all the cups got broke shards beneath our feet but it wasn't my fault And everyone's competing for a love they won't receive 'Cause what this palace wants is release [Chorus:] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air So there I'm kinda older than I was when I revelled without a care So there [Chorus:] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, and you know, and you know
Guys guys guys, I have the most delicious idea! About the upcoming issues and about Tarn! Spoiler: the dying of the light Okay, so mtmte has phenomenally tight plotting, right? So... who remembers this throwaway scene from waaaaaaaaaaay back in issue 6? Sooo......... if Rewind and/or Chromedome hear Tarn change shape-- the mech with the shape-changing addiction, remember-- want to lay odds they're going to totally call out his secret identity?? :D Between Roller and Dominus Ambus, I personally favor Roller as Tarn. There's some psychological stuff that I don't want to try articulating when I'm this sleepy about already feeling worthless and struggling to keep up, then feeling abandoned and forgotten by your closest friends, and transferring that emotional injury into fanatical loyalty to Megatron. But I also think Dominus's past as an explorer and renaissance mech and his search for Luna 1 and all that could tie in super interestingly to whatever it was that Skids saw on the other side of that portal and/or the weird science experiments that the people who worked with Demus were doing. But! I'll be happy however it works out. But anyways, unless it's someone like Terminus (also would be awesome, but I feel like that's an unfortunately long shot :C ), Rewind and Chromedome have a lot of ground covered for being able to identify Tarn's original identity. Chromedome was treason buddies with Optimus from the start, so presumably he was hanging around with Roller too, Rewind was married to Dominus Ambus, and that's on top of whatever else is hidden in Rewind's archives. It seems like Megatron knows who Tarn originally was, but who knows when Megatron is even going to wake up, or who's going to encounter who in the upcoming conflict. Regardless, this scene was fun but kind of stuck out to me as a moment that didn't really seem to build up the plot, and I really hope it's laying the groundwork for a reveal along these lines. edit: additional thought. Rewind might have heard Tarn when his Lost Light was attacked, but okay, two potential explanations. One, if Tarn is Roller, Rewind may not have encountered him in person ever, and sorting through his archives for a match at such a godawful time might have been right out. Or, two, Tarn's shape changing is stress-related, like Krok's clicking, and he was happy and at ease during the attack, so he didn't change shape. Tarn is not curently happy or at ease.
I kind of really regret this project. It's turning out great, no question! But haha, oh my god, this has been exhausting, and I'm only like 55% of the way done. Spoiler: big The trouble is that these two are a FUCKING NIGHTMARE to embroider. Tailgate especially, because he's got so much white to him, that handling joints without losing all your detail is the WORST. And Cyclonus is only marginally better, with his stupid purple everywhere. But gahh, cc really wanted this ship ;_; And I got a Whirl papercraft out of it, which I do love to pieces. But goddamn, I'm still only like halfway through, and a lot of what's left is white-on-white, which is... going to hurt. I couldn't have gone smaller without losing their hands, but this is going to be about the same size as my Cascade piece, which was massive. All I want to do is start Starscreammmm, gahhhhhhhhhhh
I bought a Megatronus figure the other day because he looked cool. He now has pride of place next to my jareth figure. (he will be unboxed soon I just have boxes everywhere right now so I'm waiting until he won't get knocked into one and lost)
OH, and I forgot to reply to this, but I love Astrotrain so much! He's a spaceship! He's a train! Why is he a train? Who knows, just roll with it. There's a moment in DC with him (the binoculars moment) where it was just like BAM, Astrotrain emotions, right to the heart. So he's been added to my giant pile of minor transformers cast members who will never get enough screen time to satisfy the massive, bottomless need I have for more stuff revolving around those characters.
