So does anyone want to theorize on ACTUAL alternate universe characterizations? Evil Autobots with evil kids is a given, but what if good kids and good decepticons, who would be paired up with who? Or evil decepticons and evil kids.
I mean Raf/Soundwave team up is pretty much a given isn't it? Otherwise.... hm. Jack and Knock Out? Miko and Starscream? I'm just throwing names at the wall and seeing what will stick lol
SOUNDWAVE AND RAF! Not Sir Soundwave, because he cracks me up but I'm in love with Soundwave's original characterization. Even though the Soundwave in my head is heavily idw-flavored because tfp Soundwave is more of a cipher, but STILL. The same reserve and quiet observation, but instead of Ratchet playing long-distance coordinator and trying to be the best engineer he can because there isn't anyone else, and Raf working with him like that, Soundwave doing his intelligence officer thing and diving into all the computer networks, and Raf right there with him. Raf coming up with cool tricks using the Cybertronian tech, without knowing why he has such a knack for these alien computer systems, and being able to understand Soundwave, even though he doesn't talk, and a canon that ACTUALLY explores these issues this time around. I apparently have a lot of feelings about this. Additionally, Raf and Shockwave. This is harder to explain. But a lowkey working side by side on separate projects and occasionally coordinating and a slow burn off appreciation for each other. Jack and... Megatron? Their interactions in canon were interesting. If there was a less murder-happy, bad-decision-making Megatron out there, I'd be super interested in this mentoring. Also, Miko and Starscream!!! Someone who will admire him and get excited over the cool things he does, and who isn't afraid to sass him, but without doing it in a way that like... talks down to him. Genuine emotion expressed openly, with plenty of positive reinforcement, which is very Miko. Plus he'll totally take her flying anytime she asks. Also, giving Starscream something beside himself to care about and want to protect. Wow, haha, yeah, I think I actually have even more feelings about this duo than about Soundwave and Raf.
I was going to say Breakdown and Miko but spock ninja'd me with convincing reasoning... Jack and a herd of Vehicons, give them the character development they deserve
I would almost say Miko and KO. She´d like the racing and she´d like Breakdowns breaking shit. Jack and Megs? Starscream can be the Ratchet who reluctanty co-adopts someone over time.

Miko having two robodads as a universal constant is great. Eta: or three, actually. If starscream is there.
But I also like Miko and Starscream. Dammit! ETA: Miko and Starscream, then KO and BD as robo-uncles. Son of ETA: Starscream threatening them with a slow painful death if there is so much as a scratch on Miko when he gets her back. Because overprotective.
Bonus: all three of them being convinced that I'm the robodad, and the other two are the second-favorite robo-uncles

OH MAN i am undone by the starscream + miko reasoning..... that would be..... so perfect........ OH NO i'm suddenly like 200% more fond of miko than i was before?? and i had already grudgingly allowed her into my heart...... man now i'm gonna have to buckle down and catch up on TFP
Heyyyy, it's finally those Sins Of The Wreckers text supplements I promised! Only three pages of serious content (I did not photograph the pages of character design sketches, sorry), so not that much compared to lsotw, but there is some GOOD SHIT in there, especially relating to Springer.
