Spoiler Precisely my point. I've blabbed about Prowl-on-the-Lost-Light rehabilitation and therapy (and shipping) possibilities with Spock for a while now and this scenario would be solid gold. Get Prowl on a ridiculous ship constantly bombarded with silly adventures where he doesn't have the authority to make ridiculously extreme decisions for the greater good and has to learn to interact with and see nuance in people he's hurt before. And drag Rung back in for emergency therapy time this very instant
Spoiler: MTMTE 57/Lost Light 1 I would pay so much for Prowl to join Lost Light you don't even know. Mostly because I WANT HIM TO GRUDGINGY GET BETTER. and the drama potential is SO BIG.
I would genuinely love that plotline, yes. Prowl is horrible but I like him, and I think the thing that makes him so much more frustrating as a reader than characters like Megatron or Soundwave or Whirl is that all three of those characters know they have fucked up and are willing to alter their behavior in an attempt to correct for that. Whirl's got severe impulse control issues and tends to find terrible things funnier than they objectively are, but even he's improving a lot. Prowl just... doubles down, and as someone who was a Vriska fan from the start that is... frustrating to read even as I understand it? Don't be a Serket, Prowl.
Spoiler Rewind races into Ultra Magnus's office and slamdunks a bunch of paperwork on the desk. "We need to bolt all the tables on this ship to the floor right now immediately." Ultra Magnus steeples his fingers. "I would ask why, but I like the way you think and this paperwork is already completed in triplicate, so it will be done." Days later, Megatron is squinting at the report that says literally everyone on the ship volunteered to help with 'EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TOP PRIORITY REPAIRS TO THE TABLES,' and doesn't understand why until Prowl throws a fit over not being allowed to make command decisions and goes for the nearest table Rewind has cameras everywhere. It's going to be the best montage
Like it'd be inaccurate I think to say that Prowl has done worse things than Megatron or Soundwave or even Whirl. There was a 4 million year war! It was literally 4 million years of escalating war crimes, at some point the metric just breaks for who has done worse things. Which is why the thing that seems to be impacting me as a reader is how a character responds to the knowledge that they've fucked up.
Spoiler I really like Prowl (while spending a lot of time going O PROWL NO) and a redemption arc would be awesome and interesting to watch. Like a beautiful trainwreck. Prowl's rehab would be on super hard mode, too. Some of the people who arguably bring out the worst of Prowl (Chromedome and Rewind) would be right there in his face. ALL THE TIME.
Spoiler We've also got potential filthy enablers for Prowl's poor life choices, depending on where Getaway and amoral!Wrecker!Perceptor end up in all this. Plus a hodgepodge of mechs from both sides of the war and a couple who were never involved in the first place (Tailgate, Nautica, Velocity) thrown into the mix. All of these potential interactions would be incredible to watch. Like, let me tell you, the Terminus<>Prowl<3-Megatron + Prowlc3-Terminusc3-Megatron double-decker train is going full steam ahead
I bring WIPs the first one's a sketch for that picture i said i'd do from@spockandawe 's megatron/terminus fic and the second's because i don't know when to stop
EEEEEE, I'M EXCITED! And that second one looks so cool, oh my gosh! I love how your linework looks on these dorks. Alsooooooo, I want Prowl/Megatron shipping so bad I could SCREAM. They can be humorless why-the-fuck-are-these-people-like-this friends, and give each other meaningful looks when Rodimus bursts into the bridge all like HEY GUYS COME WATCH ME DO A KEGSTAND and terminus. because perfection
Spoiler: re: that 57 preview speculation Oh man, and think of Prowl's reaction to Chromedome losing his mnemosurgery needles.
Spoiler: exRiD 5...6?, Titans Return So Sentinal Prime was 'killed' but his head wasn't recovered by his killers, and those bits were actually the real Sentinal Prime, he was a very tiny robot in a trenchcoat the whole time, right? Pre-Titans Return, this is millions of years ago. So Optimus just killed Galvatron and kept his head and let the rest be destroyed/drift through space...
Yo! we are watching an episode of g1 and then TFA on teh stream if anyone is interested https://www.rabb.it/mizushimo?l=-e7cQxB0IF
