@applechime Spoiler: Lorge This is the wip I took a picture of! The mystery silhouette is Rodimus, and it's not quite smooches, but it might as well be :D And my other big wip is another picture by Larry One of those is for her, the other is for me. I'm leaning towards keeping Getaway, because dark fabric projects are EXHAUSTINGGG, but also I'm using 75 colors on the megarod and the shading looks SO good. I... want them both and I don't want to pay to frame either one :V But right now I'm tentatively planning on keeping Getaway and maybe doing this megarod-ish piece to make it up to myself. I just need to balance the color depth and size to make some of that detail work pop.
I'm not normally one for getting humans in my space robot fun, but. I think I've found a rock that could conceivably be a stand-in for (or human misnomer for) energon, if someone wanted to write in TFP!verse. Meet pentagonite. Spoiler: lorge pictures aaaand just for reference purposes, let's get some raw TFP-energon crystals in here too: Now, it tends to grow a little more clustered than energon does, but both have a generally prismatic habit! Pentagonite (and its dimorph, cavansite-- basically the same chemical composition growing in two different patterns because Science Things™) are made mostly of silicon, vanadium, and calcium. Silicon is a pretty common theoretical alternate life-basis to carbon-- and we're playing with giant robots, so let's go for gold (or, rather, silicate) here and assume between the 'alive' thing and the 'computery' thing, Cybertronians are a silicon-based species and need to ingest plenty of silicon to keep functioning. Calcium has a metric fuckton of biological uses, but maybe most useful to our robots: it can be used to remove certain impurities from other metals, as well as being luminescent in certain compounds (biolights, anyone?). And vanadium? Vanadium, while fairly rare on its own, is mainly used to make other metals stronger. So: a very rare, blue, probably-mechabiologically-useful mineral that grows in a habit suspiciously similar to shown energon deposits... I'm not saying we've got alien robot invasions, but I'm absolutely here to be a rock nerd.
Hey everyone, just wanted to drop in and say hi, and also I photoshopped Gordon from Thomas the Tank Engine's face onto Overlord and I am afraid. The angle is all wrong, and yet the expression...is just as terrifying. The lips, just as weirdly full
It reminds me of Touch The Skyrim, where they keep adding mods to skyrim until the game breaks, and one of the first mods replaces any and all dragons with flying Tank Engines.
I just watched that series last week, and then found a bunch of Thomas the Tank Engine books at work, which inspired this entire horrific tangent. It's all connected! In other work-related news, the long awaited update that no one cares about: my library still has all the IDW Transformers comics on the kid's floor. We recently got a fresh, crisp new copy of Last Stand of the Wreckers right where any five year old can grab it, and it's fine because the robo gore is all pink /thumbs up/
I mean I'd say it's... probably fine for teenagers, but I'd definitely not keep it in the kid's section. My local library system has two comics/graphic novel sections, one that's okay for a wider age range and one that's more 'adult'. Like Fruits Basket is in the kid's section bc there's no gore or graphic sexual content.
We have a kids section, a teen section, and an adult section for graphic novels, and whoever is in cataloging decided AH yes. A robot gets cut in two lengthwise in an explosion of gore. KIDS SECTION IT IS (In their defense, they probably never read it. On the other hand, I told them the exact page it happens on. Nope, back on the shelf a month later)
Geez! I could see either teen section or adult section, although I'd lean more towards adult section but teens could look at, but definitely not kids section.
......Starscream's head is covered with vents. If you get Starscream turned on, his face starts blowing hot air at you.
...Someone needs to utilize this in fic stat. It's too bad standard hypothermia-cuddle-for-warmth scenarios don't work for transformers so well, otherwise you could do LOTS of interesting things with venting during interface.
I'm on it ᕕ༼⌐■-■༽ᕗ I don't have any particular ship plans, if anyone wants to nominate anything, they're free, but my brain has been a temperamental beast lately, so no guarantees that I can make it work (my default plan is probably something in starbladejack) (to be honest, my first thought was trinefic, but NOPE, FACE VENTS X3 IS TOO SILLY, NOPE .....also surreptitiously adds this to marissa/thundercracker
I mean. Going by TFP they CAN have issues in extreme cold, which makes sense, lots of machines that aren't specifically made or modified for freezing conditions will have issues of one kind or another.
Howwwwwwwwsabout extremely cold situations with rewind the tiny bot who dispels heat much more efficiently than his larger comrades cuddling right up to his lorge space heater husband And/or tailgate doing the same thing to cyclonus. Oh no, this is too cute, the potential of these vents has been seriously neglected
Ultra Magnus being the only one still functioning in a cold situation because all his layers of armor build up and trap heat and keep his real body nice and warm?
