I'd been thinking about the dinobot miniseries and the mad science bludgeon was up to! (i think that's what happened? oh, ramondelli :') )I'm thinking that old cybertron probably had a system in place watching for the energy signature of a hot spot or some such thing. But with the decreasing frequency and the war, nobody to today really remembers about that or has it on their mind. But oh my god, I'd LOVE some kind of parallel thing with rodimus and starscream, with rodimus figuring out what's up with his baby-producing superpowers, and starscream trying to get a handle on wtf is happening on the rejuvenating cybertron. It would be such a VICTORY for both of them, especially with Optimus being so sketchy and overbearing and them having this miracle on their sides. And extra especially since both of them have fought so hard for respect and legitimacy, and this boils down to them pretty much saving cybertron from the eventual-extinction track they've been locked into since they used up their last MTOs (there are the colonies, but since they register to cybertronians like near-aliens, it seems like that wouldn't feel the same to them) Also, imagine Iacon spotting some weird energy signature off in the distance and starscream deciding fuk da police, I'm going stir-crazy here, *I'M* going to check it out. Maybe windblade tags along because holy shit you can't just wander off into the wilderness alone are you seriously that stupid. And they're bickering, and because she's being cautious, Starscream is like FUCK CAUTION, I'm gonna walk into this suspicious cave, and you can't stop me. Cut to a bunch of half-finished babies imprinting on Starscream. Windblade almost falls out of the sky, she's laughing so hard. Ps, what happens if Rodimus sets foot... on Luna Two?

OH ALSO i got curious about brainstorm's original name the other day and looked it up, because genitus has a cool sound to it. But the translation? Genitus begotten engendered produced So.... basically his name means 'product'. What an incredibly soulless name to give a baby. And Getaway says that his current name comes from the time he got dropped in his first battle and ran for it, so presumably he was built with a different name at first. I would kill to know about more of the MTOs in the cast and the names they originally had, because every time I poke at the 'treating MTOs as disposable people' thing, there's always more layers of :(

Oooooh, I just realized this panel is extra interesting now, given the new exrid backstory (why in god's name did they call it optimus prime, i'm dying, it makes it impossible to talk about). I need to go back and reread more of the Jetfire bits, because now I Care, and also now he's hella shippable with Starscream, and isn't that all that really matters in this universe? Also, omg, Starscream. Second banana? Unrehabilitatable? This is beautiful. I mean your attitude in this issue in general makes me glad that exrid mostly lost their starscream privileges, but a lot of this dialogue is excellent

On the one side: Passion, Emotions, Flashy Heroism. On the other side we also have courage and perseverance and openness. BLUE - A cooler, more tempered color. Intellectualism and Calculation on the one side, Ideology and Loyalty on the other side. A dependable color, a restrained color. PURPLE - The color of the Decepticons. Passion mixed with Ideology, but also Mystery, Secrets, the unexplainable, and dark influences. GOLD - The color of divinity and religion, spiritualism and the elite. and the base colors: WHITE - Group Oriented, Hopes and Ideals, result oriented. Polished and clean, public images. GREY - Raw metal. Straightforward, no flourishes or extraneous decorations. A spartan color, a balanced color, not losing sight of yourself, but not denying the collective. BLACK - Shadows, unsavory methods, ends justify the means, One (or few) stands by themselves against the group, Self-oriented, lonely, independent.
