Awwww, I totally missed that moment with Mirage and Sunstreaker! I am Feeling some things now, I'm not going to lie. And I'm so proud of Rodimus!! My son!!!! I liked the two spotlights he featured in, but this was the first time in an ongoing where I was really like !!!!! THAT'S MY BOY!!!!!!
Yes!!! I was going, oh, this seems much more like the Rodimus that everyone loves. I begin to understand! Spoiler: moar image Also, here is the panel directly preceding hug tiem: Because of course Sunstreaker would probably guilt-sulk forever if left to his own devices.
Finally you've hit stuff I've read!! I think they are starting to transition characters into their phase 2 selves at this point. You are so close to chaos theory, I'm excited! Thathe Rodimus arc is part of the only phase one trade I own...I still can't believe that swindle named him, that tidbit cracks me up. I would say it's not just temporary character development for Rodimus. He at least has one leg in his big boy pants now, and it only took one epic quest, almost dying and bonding with the Matrix to do it. Oh man I remember the part where OP got the Matrix back from Roddy, it was all done in a flowery, biblicalesque narration, just to really parallel it with..idk, the quest for the holy grail. Rodimus finally got back in Dad's good graces. He's so proud.
I APOLOGIZE FOR TRIPLE POSTING the reason I came here today was to share..uh..thing that happened with my headphone cord and Starscream. I can't draw robots but I do have a phone camera AND an action figure. Spoiler: poor unfortunate seeker I blame @theambernerd entirely for this
Huh. I hadn't heard of this game before. But... multiplayer not being required, cross-continuity casting, and Marissa Faireborn. And a collect-em-all setup. That hits me in... many weak spots. This could be dangerous.
Oh hey actual details! I'd only been able to find the trailer, thank for link! This looks. Even cooler, I was just hype because it looked like we'd get some comics characters :D join me in tappy game-flavored robot hell, spock
Um so i wrote some extremely last-minute speculation about Rung and the Functionist Universe Spoiler: crossposted from my tumblr So. Rung. He’s not a drill (except, of course, in the strictly figurative sense, because whatever happens with Functionist Universe!Rung is obviously going to cause some issues that Alpha!Rung has to sort out), we’ve seen his altmode, we know it baffled the Functionists for millions of years, there’s no chance he’s something so obvious. It would be incredibly useful to the Council if he was, though. (I’m just going to to go with the theory that Rung’s the Key to Vector Sigma through this. Usually I’d try to argue the evidence for that but I have to admit I’m not great at tf lore, so lets just take that as given) If the Council are going to reactivate Vector Sigma, they probably need to get Rung there physically. They could attempt to sneak him in, but even in such a heavily regulated society there’s a risk of the truth getting out. This secret is an incredibly dangerous one to them - if blacksmiths, who can only shape protoforms, are nearly the highest of the high, then what does that make the actual source of all life on the planet? And what would the people do, if they found out? The Useless One’s already seen as a hero among the rebels, and if the word got out to the general populace they could have a full-blown rebellion on their hands. Besides, this is supposed to be a moment of triumph. So, why not discredit him? A drill is mundane. Lots of mechs must turn into drills - they mine their fuel, after all, and we know that there’s no machinery on functionist Cybertron. He’s unique, certainly, and surely it was divine providence that he could break the impenetrable barrier to Vector Sigma - but he’s just another piece in its correct place. No-one has to know what actually goes on inside the chamber, after all. It’s a holy place, and only the Council need to know those mysteries. If there was an accident - or even if the Useless One decided his life to service after finding out he had a purpose after all - who’d suspect anything different? Apart from a group of universally-displaced veterans from a war that never happened, but that’s kind of unlikely. (tangent: Nightbeat probably knows that Rung is the Key. He was studying Rung’s altmode in issue 29, and then made sure to keep him away from the fighting during Dying of the Light.) (tangent 2: I am going to feel extremely silly if Rung is not actually the Key)
I've unlocked the secrets of Rung's alt mode! It was so obvious, this whole time, the answer was right there, just hidden behind a sneaky panel border!
I gather from context clues that this is from the Marvel TF comics, which I have never read, but I just There's not a single thing I do not love about this
