that aside, i am SO excited for next issue. i cant wait for starscream to join the party in windblades brain, and im SO GLAD how megatron affected starscream is being addressed?? ive been vibrating in place all day about this

 

And of COURSE it is time for my computer's internet to break, Of course. This is literally exactly what happened right before surgery number one, I don't know what I expected (ಥ⌣ಥ) But I swear to god, I'm going to finish fic on my phone if I have to, this to do list is KILLING me. And I have very important robot yelling to do, it's like the universe has no conception of what priorities are.

ANYWAYS, I need to do some wailing about robutts across continuities being left out to twist in the wind. Starscream is the obvious main for that, but I am also very :< over Swindle being surprised anyone would be happy to see him. I need to poke more at his phase 2 appearances to see if he can make me sad other ways. The moment with the stray decepticons in LL being like 'Fangry is literally not worth it'. Swerve's everything. Ssssssomething to do with Trailcutter, but he doesn't quite fit, because he was mourned when he died, his problems just didn't get direct care when he was alive. Ironfist is a clumsy fit because he was in a hyperspecialized environment and/or pre-war. Some of the snide asides about Whirl. This isn't well planned or thought out at all and probably it won't stand on its own :V If I ever compile a list-thing-whatever, of quiet background tragedies, like the ship of k-class bots or the UM message that just says 'struggling', it might fit there and look less disjoint. And who has too many meta ideas? Me. I has too many meta ideas.

I'd say I'm kidding, but his design is streamlining and hers is getting fancier and their sizes are in flux, and GIMME THE ROBOT FUSION, omg, it'll be like combiners, but SATISFYING.

I need to lock down a dynamic for Liege Maximo and Vigilem before I lay them over Starscream and Windblade's minds. I know I need to make the trust and easy command/submission grate up against the rivalry and tension for the mindfuck to work. But I really need to not be sloppy with this, it's going to be confusing enough that it has to be crisp.

And the starblast has been jossed WAY less hard than I was expecting. I'm working on an accelerated time-to-cracking scale compared to canon, but between this and the starbladebee, I feel like me and my lack of work ethic are cheating fate. And the onstarblast.... That one still fits pretty durn good too. If I wrote the two of those I'd feel pretty compelled to write a sequel where Blast Off does for-real crack and it's just him and Onslaught and honesty about the deal and mnemosurgery. I can elaborate (or just write the fic :V), but once the details are OUT there, I see a really sweet way to play it. I just need them to extract themselves from the political mess without them getting hurt (no) or Starscream getting hurt (no). So that's a tricky balance.

BUT, on the other hand, the stage is pretty well set for two sad, damaged nerds using each other for mutual emotional self-harm. #AESTHETIC. I've never cared about the combaticons before why is this happening to me (also give me more humanizing stunticon time, make me love motormaster and his silly head and let me see what makes him tick. I've had one hit of feelings, GIVE ME MORE)

What else. God, this is disorganized. I hate writing these things on mobile, it's designed to exploit my toddler-like attention span.

I don't know who this ratchet-looking medic kid is, but I like him.

I don't trust Airachnid at ALL, and I love it. I never cared much for her in TFP, but this is great stuff.

GIMME MORE TITANS. Vigilem is a proper player now, Metroplex has brought himself to bear in some nice ways. But I want Navitas, give me my speedy city man. He's Carol Channing from Thoroughly Modern Millie in my head right now and it's both good and bad and I need more of him to properly joss the shitpost in my head. And I'd KILL for any sort of little flashes of consciousness from Caminus, because TRAGEDY.

(I am still a little sad that Vigilem wasn't a frankentitan made of stitched together titan bits, even though what we got is still great)

.......you know what, Metroplex and company had Vigilem tied up. Restraints for a cybertronian the size of a city. Are canon. TITAN BONDAGE, this is a crucial new development, very important, very canon.

You know what, I keep poking at pitch Windblade/Mistress of Flame crushing whenever I get the excuse, and these flashbacks of 'hurr durr sent on an impossible quest' actually fit very nicely into that. NICE.

Starscream's faces in this issue cause me MUCH PAIN. GIVE ME MORE.

And I love writing him getting angry enough to be open, that is one of my very most favorite things, but READING IT. I'm sighing happily just remembering it.

You know, I really need to start digging back into starbladejack so i can get far enough for the serious damage to come to light. All the flavors will be so! Delicious! Three distinct flavors of revelation, by partner, I just... Have to write the fic to get to that point first :[ LAME. And same goes for the rodistar, I have the reveals plotted out, the nasty explosion plotted out, the aftermath plotted out-- I just have to write one and a half fics more before it makes sense, and I don't WANNA. Or I do, but like... only if the fics would actually happen. Which they haven't been.

God, I am not on track today. Maybe it's because I stayed up stupidly late and compensated with more caffeine instead of sleep. What else.

I need Brawl and Vortex depth. Which I can find, I'm almost sure, if I could just FOCUS. The contrast between Vortex being silly and balancing beer cans on his face and being like 'haha yeah dropping people out of the sky!' is great. Brawl wanting to 'get to the killing' but also being like 'aw, don't you trust me? :(' is great. And his reaction when they combined with Swindle. Also the team reaction when Onslaught is struggling to adjust. Somebody send Onslaught on hiatus. He can go play with whales with Prowl. Spritz them with water when they start trying to do war again.

I feel like I'm forgetting a million things. God knows what, I'm 200% unfocused and I hate scrolling back on mobile. And I just wasted the entire evening wrestling my internet drivers, so hey. PRODUCTIVE. But everything about this TAAO was AMAZING and I'm actually managing to write things again and midday tomorrow starts medical leave time and hopefully my dressing is less intrusive this to around. At the very least my mom won't be wandering around cleaning my apartment while I try to surreptitiously produce robot porn Was any of that coherent or cohesive? I DOUBT IT :V

one, oooooooh, I hadn't even noticed that angle on bumblebee, that is DELIGHTFUL. It's like another flip side of Starscream like is happening with Windblade, but I'd need to slow down to compare and contrast the motivations driving them. And something something isolation, with Starscream and Bumblebee, but Starscream is isolated within the context of having contact with the world, and Bumblebee just can't talk to anyone but Starscream. But between Metalhawk, Wheeljack, and Bumblebee, Starscream is BREAKING MY HEART with how he reacts when anyone gets even a little bit close to him.

Actually, there's something in there about Windblade being willing to trust him at first and being willing to support him even afterwards. Something about Starscream doing really badly with people when it looks like there's any kind of rivalry/competition/threat aspect to it? Which I mean. Metalhawk :B But that's interesting.

And also I really need to do a comparison of Megatron talking mad shit to Starscream in the past and Starscream being like fuck you, I'm amazing, and Bumblebee being more quietly disappointed and nice to Starscream and urging him that come on, you can do better, until Starscream finally cracks and snaps that fine, he's not good enough, are you happy now? Accidentally breaking him with kindness and all, pretty sure I've rambled about it before.

But oh, also something about Bumblebee not being inclined towards political games being what made him miserable in the past, and how he's really picking up some tricks now. Gahhh, this is no good on mobile, I need to collect thoughts better once I'm done with errands
