JRo confirmed over twitter that he wasn't going to be involved with the Transformers franchise after Lost Light ended (at least for a short period of time.)
The 'taking a break' phrasing does sound optimistic for future robot involvement. I mean, he's been going hard, especially with the accelerated pace on the last run of the series, I'd need a vacation if I was him. And he's carved out a pretty solid writing career here, I think. That was a LONG, very successful run he had, and he's real established now.

IDW thoughts: I'm sure Bumblebee didn't think much of Starscream for a looong time, at least nothing good, but he definitely softened post-war and then I think getting a view of what Starscream actually deals with internally for years was the final nail in that coffin. Because like, most of the post-war softening was definitely just out of necessity, once everything goes Very Bad and Starscream starscreams even more and Bumblebee is trapped in whatever singularity he's trapped in, he uses the knowledge that he can be seen and heard but only by one person and that person is Starscream to just like... rag on him. And I can't blame him! But that changes. Because Starscream is a mess. He's not gloating in his victory and rubbing his hands together as he rules as a tyrant just to make people suffer, he's barely sleeping and unable to trust anyone and ruling like a tyrant because he is not emotionally healthy enough to rule in any other way. And honestly I think that... probably recontextualized a lot of Starscream's past decisions to Bumblebee, especially since Starscream uses him as a venting board?
