So my boyfriend showed me this picture



and asked "Do they normally do this or is [pause while he looks closer at the picture] Edwin just very talented?"

What he meant was "Was Edwin Kats, the photographer, very talented?"

What I understood was that he thought Edwin was a perfectly reasonable name for this specific bird.

Its always amazing to me how many people just dont understand straight faced absurdism and take it as a personal insult or call it gaslighting or something equally reactionary.

yeah i saw a graphic along those lines a while back, so either someone created it to mock PETA or it was a very... very poorly-thought-out endeavor by PETA themself.

 

A lot of PETA's Thing is less about actually trying to make points that will reach people and more about constantly trying to stay in the spotlight by stirring up controversy, so I could see it being a thing PETA released that did exactly what they intended it to do.
