Huh, now I'm trying to imagine it. Probably depends a lot on the sauce. A really tangy, acidic tomato sauce would probably overpower the bananas until you bit into them and suddenly Banana Contrast! I don't know if that would be nice but it doesn't sound great. Maybe something mellower with those pungent spices you smell more than taste? I'm not sure how one achieves such a tomato sauce but there sure are a lot of examples in the canned goods aisle so it must be possible.
