I suck at science shit so I don’t get it, can someone explain?

The molecule on the guy in the middle is a heme group. A heme group is the little bit of a hemoglobin molecule (that is, the protein in your blood that carries oxygen around) that actually attaches to oxygen. The girl on the right is an oxygen molecule. The girl on the left is carbon monoxide, which is poisonous because heme likes it so much better than oxygen that just a little bit of it will kick a huge amount of oxygen out of your blood.

That makes me think of kids' shows that avoid saying words like die.

Probably my favorite was from Rescue Bots, which has a particularly young target audience, during an episode about a haunting. One of the characters had to explain what a ghost was without mentioning death: "Well, ghosts are supposed to be the spirits of humans who lived back in the past, but return in the present."

The first English release of Final Fantasy VI had a bit where someone jumps off a cliff when she thinks everyone she ever knew and loved is dead and civilization is destroyed, because "people used to go cliff-diving there for fun, and it really cheered them up!"

So a while ago there was this whole situation in Chicago where some company bought the naming rights to U.S. Cellular Field, already a victim of a naming rights situation, and tried to change the name to Guaranteed Rate Field. I don’t remember if they actually succeeded in this folly. I’d honestly forgotten the entire incident.
