This probably is a mean thing to laugh at but watching two people who don't know how to have a discussion where they hold different viewpoints (or as it's colloquially known, an argument) try to convince the other of their viewpoint, just by saying their thesis statement over and over again is the funniest fucking thing in the world.

person a: i think thing!
person b: i think not thing!
person a: but thing!
person b: no! not thing!
person a: but i think thing!
person b: but not thing is right!
person a: no, thing is right!

and then person b got really fucking upset because person a didn't agree with them immediately. it was the best.

 

I wish there was a way to telegraph the difference between a conversation where you are just trying to explain your point of view and don't actually want to have a debate, just ... want to present that there's another way to look at things. Because realistically, 90% of conversations about points of view aren't really going to change anyone's mind unless the topic is one that people are not invested in, and I have had these types of conversations a lot, and I don't actually think I can change people's minds, nor do I really want people trying to change mine :)

 

When I wake up I am fffffff. After a time I become fiss and remain fiss until the spoons are used up. Then I am fffffff again.

 

so, would you say you fizzled out? :P
