I think you once mentioned that you don't so much see yourself in Norm as you see admirable traits you'd like to possess some day, I'm thinking sass + confidence, but could very well be misremembering. I glanced over that thread you had for talking about FOP once and am more than a little amazed by the breadth of your knowledge of the series, cause that's a metric butt tonne of content and it's really cool to see people know and care about things like that. For some reason, you don't strike me as the type to wade waist deep into drama, but I think you do care about things a lot and are maybe a bit particular about stuff? I dunno.
@tinyhydra yep. sass + confidence. the ability to just not care about what anybody else thinks, to keep on doing your thing no matter what, to go after what you want no matter what... thanks! :D i naturally have a good memory and if i forget or am unsure about a thing, i go check the fopwiki. (btw, other fandom wikis should totally pick up its picture-organizing system. like, seriously, it's sorted by character, by episode, by character-in-specific-episode, and it shows every outfit worn by/form of most of the characters. like, it is one hella good system and just... yeah. but that's me rambling. fopwiki is awesome, though occasionally a bit 'wtf.' the wtf is mostly a comments section thing, though, i think.) i'm not as active as i used to be in fandom stuff - 'cause anxiety - but yeah, i do edit the fopwiki a bit and look at and reblog things from the fop tags a lot. and i was on tvtropes but back in 2008, when i was 12, i did embarassing stuff there so now i barely touch the site. *sighs* and yeah, i don't really go into drama. like, i watch the caa thing go down and the other stuff in fine imported drama and sometimes bring in a joke if one comes to me or say something not-jokey if that comes to me but yeah... i pretty much try to ward off drama on my tumblrs by Barely Saying or Making Anything for fear of accidentally bringing down the Tumblr Thought Police on me. i mean, that's not particularly likely but... i worry.
@Bel Capricorn I haven't talked with you a lot, but from what I've seen I dig your subtle humour, I find your openness about yourself very refreshing, and I think you're very friendly. @unknownanonymous I've interacted a bit more with you I think, and you seem like a fun and bubbly personality. You can get really enthousiastic about stuff and I very much appreciate that, as well as how you translate your enthusiasm into your creativity. I like Fairly Odd Parents quite a bit, and I agree - Norm the Genie is pretty awesome. I love how his design reminds me of a Vegas showguy, or slick Hollywood producer - what with the ponytail and the 'too cool for you' sunglasses, and I don't know how he sounds in English, but in Dutch he sounds really smarmy and smooth talking. (FOP is dubbed in the Netherlands, except in the evenings for some strange reason, but I only ever watched in the afternoons - my TV was a little weird) @Emma I mainly know you because I think 'hey! She's Dutch like I am! BONDING' but I'm too anxious to really engage with you because I feel like I'll fuck up my 'Dutchness' (it's a thing I have - I've only ever lived in the country since I was a teenager so I didn't grow up with a lot of the stuff others did) Other than that you seem very friendly and I hope you have a really nice bike now! Haha sorry I keep on finding everyone friendly, but that's because you are! :D
@Bel Capricorn It's slightly self-deprecating and I recognise that sentiment really well. Like this one: I use it now with my friends. I love it.
today's not a words day, so i apologize for abruptness, or if i just say something that creeps you. i actually have a weird thing that gives me a vague taste in my mouth for personalities (synesthesia??). i just associate it with food that tastes similar. @TwoBrokenMirrors says a lot of words. none of them are wasted, however. lots of interesting topics covered very thoroughly. flavor = sorta pomegranate @Fish butt is very funny. gives pretty good advice. very artsy, but not pretentious seeming. flavor = something like flan, without the bitter sugar syrup @Elaienar is sorta spooky, but kind. feels like they'd fit well in the friendleader category. flavor = roasted pumpkin seeds @unknownanonymous is extremely passionate and caring. precious gem. flavor = blue raspberry snowcones @Void is very good at encouraging people. super creative thinker. like the embodiment of fun and games, the kind that don't come at the expense of another. flavor = reminds me of gingersnaps i'm sorry i haven't interacted enough with anyone else who's posted so far.

@Fish butt :D thanks! awesome! you like norm the genie! :D it's really hard for me to describe how voices sound exactly (though i remember a youtube vid of one of his eps with bad quality audio that basically totally messed up his voice, it made him sound like some sort of steorotypical nerd or whatever which made me go like, "wtf?! wrong! he shouldn't sound like that" and then check to make sure i was correct about it messing it up. and i was.) so i can't really describe how he sounds in english. though i think there's something very distinctive about it. lately i feel like i haven't been doing that much creative stuff, though i suppose that depends on how narrowly or broadly that's defined. and i'd say you have a very distinctive art style. you do come off as adult, as other people have said. there's also some other thing that i can't quite put my finger on. @Deresto thanks! :D you are very orange, but not in a synesthesiatic way. in a more "i really associate you with that particular icon and it's colours and i was really... taken aback when you changed it to the more blue and white arthur cartoon one." and i get the impression that you're fun, basically. chill, happy, something like that...
@Fish butt I have a bike :P I paid almost 400 euros for it, and I suppose it's okay, it's just not my old bike. I must admit, I always get excited when I see fellow Dutch people on the internet in places I frequent. Mostly because there are hardly ever any. I'm sorry if I have ever made you feel not Dutch enough though. That's definitely not my intention. What part of the country did you live in when you lived here? My impression of you is that you're really nice, and also a bit strange in a good way :) I mean I would never have thought of a fish with a butt :P My age reading of you is also really weird. I get the feeling you're older than me, but also my age sort of at the same time. I'm 23 btw. @BPD anon You remind me of my housemate a bit. He's generally a nice guy, but then sometimes he has these... issues that affect everyone around him. When he's doing great though, he's a really nice guy, and I think you are as well :) We don't really seem to have much overlap in the things we like (I am very much not one for grimdark stuff), but that's okay. :)
@Emma Haha, I'm 28 years old! :) And please don't worry - you haven't made me feel less Dutch at all! It's just that I feel like such a foreigner on the one hand, while on the other it is a very clear part of my identity. I'm just very insecure in a lot of ways, like I haven't done enough 'homework' to talk about a subject. I'm mainly from the Hague (I've always gone there for every summer holiday) but I've lived in Zwolle for about 7 years (I studied Art and Music there). I tend to like The Hague a lot more, mainly because it's close to the sea and I have happy teenage memories from there (lived there for 4 years). I've lived in the Netherlands the longest of all the countries I've been in (11 years!) and it fascinates me, but then a lot of Dutch people find the subjects I'm obsessed with very normal and don't quite understand why I make such a big deal out of it, which I find very Dutch in a sense! I can ramble a lot about the country's history and stuff like that - like the German bunkers in The Hague. :) Also, wow! 400 euros! Well, it always takes a little while to get used to it. I cried when I outgrew my first bike and had to give it away.
@Bel Capricorn , you use my sketch of you as your icon and it makes me grin every time i see it now because hey look! I did a thing someone liked! :D Also you tend to be very sweet about the way you present stuff, just a gentle cool guy, good to people @BPD anon you are seriously one of the strongest people i know. You wrestle with angels for sure, but you're beating them bit by bit and you never give up and i really admire that. I know how terrifying it can be not to be in control of your actions, and especially to face up to the shit you broke later but you do it every time like a goddamned boss. Also dont you do like...fanart or fic or something? I seem to recall you being popular on tumblr and i keep meaning to go look up your stuff but i havent had a chance yet. Im a little afraid sometimes of disagreeing with you because i dont want to trigger a flipout, but its more 'i dont want to hurt you' than 'i dont want you to hurt me' if that makes sense. I like you a lot and am rooting for you to keep winning. @unknownanonymous coolest username on the site. Does rad meta, has interesting fannish opinions. Generally kind and cool.
@Lissiel thanks! :D coolest username on the site? really? awesome! :D and hmmm, i dunno how much meta i really do. i mean, there's a lot of that in my norm the genie thread but... not as much for more popular things like homestuck, you know, stuff that i'd expect people to be reading and to have thoughts. like, the norm the genie thread has the only meta i've done on here with multiple paragraphs, i think... yeah...
