I think Gemini means Spoiler: plot spoilz the rock musician suicides? The way they handle it is weird because the character saying it is clearly meant to be a conspiracy theorist and Nic's like, hey, maybe don't push anxiety and depression out of the way to say that it was the fault of mystical mind-warping? But you can't have your cake and eat it too, TANIS podcast, having your narrator be against it doesn't change that you put it in the podcast. :P I guess I do prefer the acknowledgement of the problem by a character to just glossing over it, though.
it was Spoiler: spoilers The woman in episode 3 whose name they kept bleeping out, the one who died in the water tower. She was a real person who died exactly that way in 2013. I don't know how to feel about this, I feel like they probably could have made up a different mysterious death, instead of using a real person who really died. I suspect they even knew making the podcast it wasnt Good because her name was consistently bleeped out, which it isn't for anyone else so far
oh! oh, come the fuck on, TANIS, they even Spoiler: spoilers said an anagram of her name that was obvious enough that I'd worked out her first name, and, yep, it's the same as the real woman. :|
yyyyeah Though I'll assume by the fact that it wasn't immediately obvious what I was talking about that it doesn't come up again in a big plot way yet, which I'm pretty grateful for.
That at least is a relief. It really startled me because like, I'm so used to the black tapes' more total fiction stuff, I was a little thrown by all of the real world references and then that. it IS very enjoyable otherwise tho. just like with the black tapes i cant tell if all of this intense conspiracy stuff is just a bunch of coincidences and the characters are making large leaps in logic, or if there really is something bigger going on. i really really am liking the parallels between the shows, also
also i will say that nick being so incredibly uncertain and stumbling over his words as opposed to alex and her more brash, determined everything is super interesting to me, just in terms of different narrative style and nicks insistence of MK reading everything out loud bc its more dramatic. so cute.
ahaha oh man remember in the black tapes 101 the shadow man had a hat? what happened to that hat? it was silly and I want it back
OKAY finally listened to the new episode and i am Worried about people who are probably dead but i don't want them to be dead. why this
Man, if all the supernatural stuff is true, how many demons does Alex even HAVE following her by now? Spoiler: attempted list 1) whichever one the unsound invites into the world 2) maybe a shadow man, if that's not the same thing 3) that demon the bookstore lady made her say the name of 4) the one you summon by thinking its name in the dark others??
Nah, there were two separate ones, one that Spoiler the bookstore lady made her read out loud, and one the bookstore lady just said the name of and then informed her would be summoned by thinking of it with your eyes closed.
upd8! edit: Spoiler Alex! I'm so glad you feel better! But your leg scratches are probably from demons and your confidence may be over-.
Spoiler: ep 112 spoilers OHHH MY GOD HOW DID I NOT PUT TOGETHER THE FACT THAT NICK, VERONIKA, SAM, AND MORGAN WERE THE PEOPLE IN THE DIARY PAGES??? OH MY GOD YOU GUYS FUCKED UP?? WELP TIME TO LISTEN AND FIND OUT WHO FUCKIN DIED I GUESS LMAO
Spoiler: ep 112 spoilers NIC YOURE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO JUDGE ALEX FOR BEING RECKLESS OKAY. THE SECOND YOU WANDER INTO THE WOODS AND FUCK OFF INTO THE WEIRD HORRIBLE CABIN IS THE MOMENT IM JUDGING YOU FOR JUDGING HER GOD DAMN
Can we take a moment to appreciate the intros bc I want to listen to them on repeat forever they're so calming Spoiler: tanis 202 liveblog "WHAT is Tanis" there u go, finally '3-4 hours aren't enough sleep' hahahah #relatable i really like hearing about the forest adventures (look at this nice nonthreathening name for a traumatising event) oh morgan, why do you have to break the rules, you had instructions to follow gdi) question: is there a timeline for when all of this goes down, as in when the black tapes happen in relation to when tanis happens, bc i am confused i'm too bad at names for this podcast. nathaniel carter was the guy he was told not to investigate? one of the guys he was told not to investigate lmao, but why did he want to investigate him in the first place?? ffffffssss I was wrong I thought I could listen to this now but I am apparently incapable of focusing enough to actually follow along with what's happening. this is a reoccurring issue w podcasts gdi "Honestly I'm getting sort of tired of this whole 'doing it for your own good'... thing" you tell him nick, you go there is obviously something important happening rn but I keep zoning out. aaaargh. Guess I'll have to wait for transcripts again :I
