Well I went to therapy. It is now time for me to do all the things I was going to do during business hours, except that I have forgotten all of those things and am fixated on the idea that I'm going to get scurvy because I haven't had An Vegetable in a potentially significant period

those steam in the bag frozen veggies are a lifesaver when that feeling arises. also subway sandwiches. just pile all the veg on there. i love how you can get so much veg you can't fit the sammich in your mouth, and it doesn't cost one cent extra.

    Okay, list:

Not Get Scurvy (boil cabbages with salt & eat them)
    preserve teeth (brosh and fluss)
    call doctors
    call union
    call bank
    take out trash
murder "express appropriate anger at" whoever is, at my best guess, playing music using a colander and spoon next door
    shower maybe
get bread (so that I have snacking food that isn't pure sugar)
    sort receipts

not get scurvy is first if I can turn screaming brain into ability to do a thing. other important things: calls, bread, anger

I called the union and I owe them getting on 250 dollars. I was so sure it was under a hundred. Ah well; I can either do a cashier's check or loop in someone with a credit card. I also cleared and washed the stove (I cook so little that I end up using it for storage whoops) and now I'm going to boil the water for the Not Get Scurvy.

I left the house with the cabbage still in the water. I turned off the stove, but. That’s impressive

I called a couple of doctors; not sure if they were the right ones but I have appointments. I’m on my way to the bank. Also I have bread in the fridge, which I totally forgot was a place that could contain bread.

I just Activated a pair of special interests and now I’m stuck on a bus with no materials which makes me want to frustratestim by
    chewing on my eyeballs

I thought of a game I want to play to make cleaning my apartment easier. It's called Is This Worth Money and the rule is, I go through every item I have and ask, "If I didn't already have this, would I pay real money to buy it?" And if the answer is no, I have to get rid of it.

I figure I start at the door and work my way in. Anybody want to encourage me? Light "are you actually doing it?" type criticism is also okay but if I flinch don't push.

It's turned into a meme, but I honestly find the Marie Kondo "does it spark joy?" metric useful. Like, does it make me happier to have this thing? Then it can stay, and otherwise I should find something else to do with it.

(Another thing I've had luck with with modular tasks like "pick up objects" is to make it into a game tied to something. Like, watch a TV show or play a game or something and every time X Thing That Happens A Lot happens, I have to do one thing. I sometimes have to address huge piles of envelopes or postcards for work, and I've been known to do that while playing video games and I have to write one whenever $Thing That Happens A Lot But At Slightly Unpredictable Intervals happens. Notably did it with FFX once with rules like "Tidus says 'Zanarkand'," "The camera lingers uncomfortably on Lulu's cleavage," and "Auron one-hit-overkills something with a normal attack.")

I think these are basically the same approach, when it comes down to it—going object by object and assessing them by how valuable they are to you personally in the life you actually live.

Are you currently going through your stuff or is that not a priority for you rn?

Not so much right this second, but I've had to do a fair bit of it in the last couple of years because of the process of evacuating my and my sibling's stuff from our parents' house to our apartment.

@Camber absolutely correct, you got me at just the right moment between tasks and now is the perfect time for me to think about my goals for the day.

Things I accomplished: I gave away three pairs of pants that were perfectly decent but did not fit me at all (I wouldn't pay real money for them), and threw away one that did not fit me at all and was damaged (if it fit me I'd be happy to pay, but it just didn't).

Next up: I'm going to eat, shower, and then go make a contribution to my city's compost center consisting of bread crusts, half-cooked cabbage, and the ever-popular Whatever Is Rotting In The Fridge. Also maybe medication for my headache, although eating is the real key there.

Okay, I ate. I'm going to move over the laundry, start it, and then get in the shower. (I'm not sure if this is because I do my laundry on cold 90% of the time or what, but I've never had issues with running the laundry and shower at the same time.)

I started the laundry!! I have a load of clothes/towels/misc in the dryer and my bed-making materials are in the washer. I also ran the dishwasher, forgot to mention, I have clean dishes (still too hot while I was eating to use, but clean). Now the filthiest thing in my apartment is me, and... well, fuck putting water on my body, but it's for a good cause.

I woke up and that's all I've done today. (It was a good waking up. I dreamed I had real estate in a major city and I was getting people I know to run across the city to it.) I'm out of potable liquids though, and I should really do something about that.

I am fairly clean, owing to a shower yesterday. Ideally I would shower again but ehh. I did not contribute to the city compost yesterday because I fell asleep; ants are crawling on the compost plate and I gotta either bite the bullet and throw it away or bite the other bullet and (redacted).

Actually no I did something other than wake up. I was going through my clothing but I took a break. I have not gotten up from that break and I'm still half lying down feeling vaguely pain. Maybe I will fully lie down now.
