a few episodes ago i actually really didn't want yuri to win though! i was worried he'd end up in a viktor-like situation, constantly chasing after himself. like, hit a point where it's not about succeeding or skating anymore, it's about Not Failing? if you break the world record on your first go, what the fuck are you gonna do after that? there you go, peaking at 15. now what?
anyways i actually feel really reassured in that regard now bc yuri-yuuri rivalry, and there's viktor returning, and otabek... stubbornly ignores chris and jj so there's y'know other people around who a) care about him and b) that he respects (in a manner of speaking)
so i think i feel p much exclusively good about this episode thank god

VICTOR CRIED. And also was angry and called Yuuri selfish, which he was being!

I'm so glad they talked it out. We didn't need to see all the talking, but talking needed to happen, and I kind of was hoping/expecting the strain between the two of them wouldn't be resolved until Yuuri's FS.

Free skates:

• I don't like JJ, but man, I gasped when he missed the one jump but landed the other.
  
• Phichit you are too precious, I hope you achieve your dream
• YUURI PERFECTED HIS FREE SKATE IT WAS EVERYTHING I HOPED FOR
• Also! during his FS, there were some reallllly nice cases of things matching the music (Yuuri thanking Victor matched up with the violin coming in the first time; Yuuri making the program changes was when the violin cut out, and Yuuri talking about being inspired by and inspiring Victor was when the piano and violin synced. Kubo-sensei has mentioned she writes the scripts for skating sequences with a stopwatch, so I'm pretty sure that was intentional.
• Chris is so clearly jealous of Yuuri and Victor. He was pissed.
• Otabek was fantastic, I'm glad we got to see his FS. No quad surprises that I remember, but I really enjoyed it.
• YURIO TOTALLY HAS A SPADESCRUSH ON YUURI OMG. I mean, a friend and I had joked about it, but.

Final podium:
YES GOOD YURIO AND YUURI DESERVE TO BE THERE
after Yuuri's FS I actually would've been happy if he got gold, but he got silver, which was my first choice. Yay!
That said: wtf JJ how much did you bribe the judges, what the hell are you doing on the podium. Go away, that's Otabek's spot

And finally. PAIRS SKATING.
And SECOND SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!1111 Victor AND Yuuri both skating competitively is exactly what I had dreamed of for S2, I'm so happy.
