Ezelith from the guaranteed first one, and pulled Yaten and Cerberus from the gacha. I'm sitting on a few 10-pulls until the banner changes, though.
I'm playing, and enjoying(?) myself but only because it's the kind of game that fits my head well and i can go long streaks without losing hearts, so I'm encountering minimal microtransaction speedbumps. If you get stuck on a level, or need one or two tries to beat something, it's going to be a herky jerky experience. I installed it yesterday because i was bored, and was immediately reminded why games like candy crush are NOT ALLOWED on my phone. I say enjoying(?) because I can't stop and my eyes and brain are starting to hurt. I'm about halfway through the levels, lost all of last evening and a big chunk of the night, and I'm so very, very tired XD
all of those are really good for the longest time dark didn't have any good adventurers but now it's strong as hell I never pulled original ezelith but I have her Valentine's version definitely save for the next banner, that way you can get a good fire team too
Fire's currently my second-best since, you know, Ezelith (and protag) (and Cerberus). Still going to roll on it, though. :::PPP
niiiiiiiice I'm excited for blacksmith girls ooh, and ALSO the anniversary is coming up in September, so who knows what they'll do for that.
has anyone else been getting ads for a beautifully illustrated but hideously misogynistic thing called ‘game of sultans’? i feel like it should be captioned, “this is what incels really believe.”
Yeah, I've gotten those for ages. There's one that says "They managed to do the harem tastefully!" (yes, in third person) and I'm just.
the art makes me want to play. the fact that it’s advertised by showing you can demote your wife to a servant if your baby is ordinary makes me want to salt and burn. (not to mention, any real sultan who pulled that shit would be assassinated by noon.)
does anyone play ‘last shelter’? zombie game, one of those games that’s built on that “level up your citadel, attack other cities and random monsters on the world map, everything takes time and you can spend speed-ups, at first it takes minutes but by level 18or so it’s going to take years if you don’t use them, and there’s always a BIG SALE counting down on the upper right corner of your screen” framework. those generally bore me, especially since the mandatory guild thing means i get dragged into kiddie drama over backstabbing and betrayal of pixel resources, and also pressured to spend money by suckers who want to WIN. but the awkward af english translation and good art is honestly amusing me quite a bit. so if anyone would like to maybe form a kintsugi alliance and not take it very seriously, it might be fun. no idea if we can actually hook up, mind. i don’t know how you move between the like region things.
@michinyo hey, i also play Bang Dream! it’s my main mobile game atm. i always thought i sucked at rhythm games, and it turns out i still do unless they’re phone rhythm games. (or crypt of the necrodancer.) bang dream has been great for me bc i’ve been playing for like a year and a half and i’ve actually improved a lot in that time! i can clear expert Guren no Yumiya now! (tho i haven’t full combo’d it yet.) i played Love Live for a few months but i didn’t like most of the songs as much as i did the Bang Dream songs, and the Love Live stamina was too limiting, so i eventually stopped. (eta: sorry for a ping a month later, whoops >.>)
(Not to double-ping on something from a month ago, but) HEY I didn't know there were multiple Bang Dream players on Kintsugi! :O It's my main mobile game too!!! I've been playing since the EN server first opened, so........I have no idea how long that's been anymore, hahaha. Unfortunately I'm still bad at rhythm games, so it's been a long time since I've even tried expert Guren no Yumiya. I'm at that level where 26* songs can end up being either manageable or catastrophic for me, so...27* songs are just too intimidating... >>; I've thought before about making a Bandori thread here, though, so if people other than me would actually look at it, I'll do it. I've seriously held the opinion for a while now that it's the best free-to-play mobile game available in English, just in terms of like...gameplay, art, character development, level of polish...general entertainment value. Also I'd love a space to shill for Pastel*Palettes constantly. (...Maybe the gacha disqualifies it from strictly being "free-to-play", but shhh. At least I personally haven't had any problems collecting Bandori's gacha currency for free so far...and I could tell you some horror stories about the other gacha games I play...back in my day we had to walk uphill both ways just for a chance at an SR, and half the time it was a dupe anyway, etc, etc.)
@Alexand nice!! 26* songs being on the borderline of manageable was where i was not all that long ago — you’ll get there!! and most of the 27* are still intimidating for me, haha. yeah, so far i haven’t spent any real $ on the gacha and i’ve still gotten a decent amount of good cards, except not the one i really wanted (White Day Kaoru :<) the gameplay is def fun and i love the music! the characters are also cool even tho i don’t usually engage with the story much. Kaoru is my fave!! i would look at a Bandori thread! tho as i said, i’m mostly here for rhythm game and have read very, very little of the actual story. maybe someday i should at least read Hello Happy World related stuff? they’re my favorite characters-wise, and i also love their music. Roselia also has some v good songs.
Oh, you know, Hello Happy World should be having its second band story arrive to the EN server soon! I think that one's well worth reading; it's honestly my favorite second band story of the bunch. Tomoyo Kurosawa (Misaki's VA) does some really great voice acting work in that one, and Kaoru has a very revealing moment too. HHW is my second-favorite band, but it's pretty close between them and Pastel*Palettes. I default to stanning PasuPare because I'm a Maya oshi, but I also care a lot about Hagumi...the thing that makes HHW interesting to me is that vibe they have where it's like...Craft Egg doesn't want to play their cards too quickly when it comes to them. Like, compared to PasuPare and Roselia, both of whom are pretty open about their character arcs, HHW is more like...this magical wonderland where its members can go to forget their troubles from the outside world...and only around the very edges can you see those "reasons for joining HHW" peeking in. I'm still waiting for an event where we see more of Hagumi's family, or Kaoru's childhood. Actually, recently there was a HHW event where Misaki got in a big enough fight with her parents that she didn't want to go home afterwards...surely if Hagumi has a similar event in the future, it'll call back to that one... I...used to! Back when it first arrived in the US App Store, a lot of Bandori people I knew were getting into it, so I got into it too. And...then I ragequit during the first Kirafest because I spent all the star gems I had saved since the beginning of the game and still didn't get Amaterasu Hikari. >u>; (Actually it was more like because it was cutting into my Bandori time. Revue Starlight is one of those PVP-heavy games where it's easy for me to sink a lot of time into it on accident...just grinding my characters, endlessly tinkering with my team composition...I had to get out for the sake of my real life.) I really like the Revue Starlight characters, though...my faves from the original cast are Futaba and Kaoruko, but I also really like the Rinmeikan girls. Oh, and the anime was exceptional. 10/10 for sure. Definitely into battle Takarazuka now.
I just got into the merge dragons and boy am I enjoying this event map with the dragons that never sleep
this event, for the first time, i got all the achievements without spending any gems! usually i spend the 240 gems or whatever for the gold wingy capsule thing, to unlock the cloud with the big healie orbs and get a head start. but this time i was laid up with a spine flare, so i just listened to audiobooks and played dragonsquish, and i won everything by saturday night. :D some tips: merge event objects instead of picking them up. i mean pick up the first one to make that little sign go away, but then merge em all. that way when you get the quest for the lvl 6 object you can do it pretty quick. life orbs, on the other hand, merge to a convenient level but then pop them until you've got all the 50 point tiles cleared. you need the space and the sprouts, and especially you need the tree seedlings. merge tree seedlings by five, and arrange the saplings a little apart from each other so they have space to generate flower sprouts. try to avoid leaving low level flowers sitting out too long, because your dragons will be attracted to them over the higher level flowers. i find that it's not too hard to merge them up to the purple orbs and then leave those for the dragons to harvest while the trees generate more sprouts. after the first one or two max level orbs (don't make them before you get the quest for them) you should have the resources to merge from life flowers to the first life tree, the one that makes turquoise orbs. that makes getting the rest much faster. it takes 6 max level orbs to clear the whole board. don't bother making more than that. REMOVE DISTRACTIONS, or don't make them in the first place. for instance, don't make the raspberry tree to unlock that cloud until you no longer need the trees to generate sprouts, and once you've used it as a key, delete it, along with all the other trees. once you have your life tree, delete all the life flowers and sprouts. there'll be a bunch more at the end, of course, but by that point you won't need to leave your dragons unsupervised. (because it's the end. presumably you've made your heaven orbs and are just popping them and collecting treasures.) the point buy stuff is MUCH easier to get than the quest stars. so if you don't have that much time to spend on it, kiss the owl griffins goodbye and just focus on merging event objects. i haven't done the math but iirc a single max level object or a small handful of next-to-last are all it takes to get every prize. of course, if you don't have much to do in camp and want to screw around in the wide open spaces of the event level all weekend, i recommend buying the prism flower from the treasure store whatsit -- it's only 10 gems -- and harvesting leaves to get dragon trees, which you harvest for wood, to make gnome huts, to get mushrooms, to get a ruin, to harvest for eggs and sell for 750g. the eggs aren't terribly useful, as they stay in the event level and most of the dragons just hover around the edges of the map like tiny concussed assholes. but you can make a fair bit of money fairly quickly once you've got a handful of dragon trees. be aware that nothing drops egg chests in event levels! you know how you can grow fruit tree forests in levels by harvesting fruits for chests that are full of saplings? that doesn't happen in events, so don't bother. i'm not aware of any way to farm gold in event levels besides creating and selling wonders. it also makes farming stone not worth doing; regular levels are much better.
Thanks for the info. I had managed to get all bar the last tier for point getting this event . Are events every weekend or a bit more infrequent than that?
They're a bit more infrequent than that? Usually, anyways. I've noticed that there seem to be more going on during the summer, but most events seem to synch with holidays, I think.
they're every other weekend. it alternates between an event map and an in-camp event. so this weekend is a match-5 event in camp, and next weekend will be another map event. so you've got plenty of opportunities to try for those owls! event prize dragons tend to come around in lower level or less numerous forms as camp event prizes, so if you didn't get a samba dragon in the summer events, for instance, you can pick up a handful of samba eggs over a series of camp events and eventually hatch one. they're really very good about making it so you can spend real money to hurry things up or get more/bigger things, but you're not completely cut off from those things if you want to play free. i do the daily gem calendar each month, which i think is $4, and you get 25 gems per day for 30 days. i don't feel bad about paying the price of a cup of coffee to have enough gems for the occasional tree fountain or mountain temple.
