"Oh don't mind me, I'll just be using arena-wide AOEs and every status effect in the game, and here's a massive off-element DPS check and it's an instant party wipe if you fail!"
This is the face of a child who is definitely planning to murder the player character and drop their body down a deep pit where it will never be found.
Spoiler: Dragalia Lost spoilers So, with the event over and them still wanting to save some Confusing Time Travel Plot for later, I'm still trying to piece together exactly what happened here. Since I don't have anywhere else to write this, I guess you get to listen to me. In Audric's timeline, by some sequence of events, Aurelius didn't die and Euden got possessed. Morsayati used its handy new Protagonist Powers to collect the six Greatwyrms (presumably the five we know plus Mysterious Dragon I Forget The Name Of That Zethia Turned Euden Into That One Time) and fused them together to make Chronos. To stop Aurelius from making trouble via his control over Zodiark, Chronos went back in time to when he pacted Zodiark. For some reason this resulted in young!Aurelius who still remembers everything from what is now his future (and is pulled back to that future by ~the chain of causality~) but only has a little bit of connection to Zodiark. Zethia (who's wearing her possessed! outfit, because I guess Morsayati enforces a dress code? Or maybe it jumped from her to Euden, who the hell knows) somehow went back in time to try to stop this whole mess. This results in her appearance in the tutorial. Chronos goes back in time to try to kill her, because she might stop possessed!Euden from existing. Since he can't actually find her himself, he does this by going, "Heeeeeey, past!Euden, I'm your new time travel buddy with definitely no strings attached or ulterior motives! :D" Euden falls for it hook, line, and sinker because he's kind of a dope. Aurelius, now basically calling himself "King Idiot McStupidface," chases Chronos back in time, probably by following Zodiark. Fractured Futures happens. Aurelius/Audric pulls Zodiark out of Chronos, landing Euden back home but Audric still in Evil Euden Future. Audric's adventurer story happens. Audric has now broken his connection to his original timeline, and he and Parallel Zodiark are now lurking around past!Euden, concealing his identity very badly, and probably like 60% of the Halidom are only pretending not to know who he is to humor him. Evil Euden is still evil and has an army of welfare dragons and 5/6 of Chronos in an alternate timeline, we still don't know why both Aureliuses thought it was critically important for him to dick around the Binding Ruins and get possessed in the first place (Audric was planning to kill Morsayati before it could get up to any other shenanigans, but we still don't know why he wasn't willing to just leave it in its can), and presumably(?) future!Zethia's death by Chronos has been undone and she's kicking around somewhere. ...And these are some extremely inconsistent time travel rules.
@jacktrash you got me addicted to Merge Dragons :( Can you help me solve a problem though? Seeing as you have more experience with this game: I have loads of these egg chests that you have to open with the purple/pink currency, and virtually none of the latter. How do I get more of the latter? ETA: without going down the rabbit hole of spending money on this game...
Not jacktrash, but: there's a random chance the gold stars you get for completing side quests on each level (or the ones for Camp quests) will instead be purple stars; those will spit out 2-10 purple currency and then turn into the usual gold stars. It's a pretty slow grind, but one I personally am willing to put up with for a game with 0 ads whatsoever.
@Loq Thanks! That's what I though. Was just hoping there'd be a trick to getting them quicker :P As it is I have just been selling off the largest chests, considering I wouldn't have any space left in my camp otherwise XD
Yeah, I merge them up to max and then sell 'em off, most aren't really worth the trouble. The ones with crystals on top will usually drop mystery nests, which I find fun enough to save up for, but the others are p predictable.
I don't know who requested a Rick and Morty crossover event in Merge Dragons, but okay. We have one now? (The Rick and Morty 'dragons' wandering off to harvest low-tier stuff annoys me less, for some reason. Possibly because it's in-character for both of them?)
Dragalia Lost is about to start a crossover with Mega Man, of all things, so maybe it's just the season for utterly inexplicable mobile game crossover events.
wtFFFF merge dragons whyyyy it's a game about cute fantasy creatures rick and morty is basically the opposite of that and of course the event is a total copypaste of previous events despite that no more of my money to them until they actually do some fuckin work, i'm so pissed
It's so bad with the events being copy-paste that there's a 'How to win an event-guide on Reddit/r/mergedragons The thing that really frustrates me, is that if I do win the event, I really need the dragon power, so I have to have these ugly ass dragons in my camp -.-
i usually win the events since i can just leave my tablet plugged in and running while i work, and reach over occasionally to mass-merge the orbs. planning to delete the rick and morty 'dragons' and just keep the moon dragons.
It's very...meta, too, and the Rick and Morty-specific items (including the ugly-ass rick and morty 'dragons') are very obviously Not From Around Here, they just look copy-pasted in with no effort to make them match the art style of merge dragons.
they're flat with no shading, black outlines, just obviously paper cutouts. which makes the 'waggle back and forth' harvesting animation even more awkward. not here for this zero effort shit.
The grinding necessary to win one of these events is unreal -_-. And they're so unforgiving too, make one mistake and you're out of the running for the event stars prize. Hopefully I have found a way around that, but now I have to grind, grind, grind.
Share if it works? I tried using BlueStacks so I can run Merge Dragons on my tablet/laptop, but I'm not getting the exact same level on my laptop as I am on my phone; the level I entered on my laptop was a completely fresh, untouched one. Which suggests that they solved the problem of "level kicks you out every time your internet connection wiggles or something pops up on your phone to take you out of the game" by having the level be local to your device, but is still really frustrating because honestly, fuck starting over when I already have five stars down? That's just Not Happening.
I accidentally harvested one of the minotaur statues before I had that quest. I was all ready to give up and then I realised I could probably harvest a minotaur statue from the larger harvestable (the Hydra I believe). It worked! So I won the stars quest and I won the event, giving me a whole lot of extra dragonpower that I really needed :D
I got so close to winning the stars quest this time. The last one I had to do was heal the whole land, and I nearly managed it. I ended up with one last 50k square and a handful of 5k squares still cursed, by the time the event ended. I'd gotten a life tree sprout and a bunch of additional dragons, and I did get all the event dragons. So I'm honestly not quite sure, beyond just Grinding Harder (or using BlueStacks from the start and letting the event level run while I knitted or did other things on my phone), what I could've done to get those last bits cleared in time. Maybe harvesting all the dead shrubs and seeing how far up I could get the plants from those to go? Or possibly just not fumble-fingering the screen and tapping larger orbs while I was trying to form the end-tier one.
So I'm losing my favorite dating sim... anyone know any good 'boyfriend raiser' and/or otome games that are more mature or the MC is an adult, with interesting/fun NPCs and good art? I'm currently trying A3! and enjoying it a lot (great MC! Mature and smart and stands up for herself) but I can already tell it's going to be really slow going to get all the story chapters. Spoiler: sad rant about my favorite game dying one of my oldest/favorite phone games Dream Boyfriend Astral Days has stopped development and I'm super sad ;_; The game's still going of course but there's not been any events since spring, only weekly login drops that are items or gatcha tickets....And about a dozen new gatchas that are all old event / gatcha items, nothing new. So it's obvious they're trying to make a final cash grab before the game shuts down. :c Ugh, I'm so sad. The premise was fun and the NPCs had great personalities, esp your best friend...and they kept the 'referring to the MC as an obvious woman' stuff to a minimum, along with letting you be addressed as Sir or Mister [Name] so it was easier to feel like a male MC.
