Katters is lifted out of the hole by the spear... straight into arms' reach of the strange, once-human hounds, who watch her with clear hunger bright in their eyes. The figure holding the spear speaks, and it's indescribable, loud, surrounding everything - Katters feels warm blood start to drip from her ears.
Katters kicks at anyone — anything — that comes within range. If she can — if she can just — if she can get out — get away — run —
( Please roll brawl + dex, and take -1 if you don't want to risk your grip slipping on a failure. Alternatively, you can choose to roll dex + brawl and a double-strength OR str + athletics, whichever is better. Dex is the attack, str is to maintain your grip. )
Katters manages to keep her grip and solidly kick one of the beasts in the snout as Red shrinks back into the hole. One of the beasts lunges for Katters, teeth digging into her leg. ( 1 lethal )
“Fuck!” Katters thrashes — “Cack!” — trying to kick the beast off — “Harg!” — kicking at the rest of them with her other foot — “Fack!”
Her grip stays tight, but her thrashing draws its' fangs further into her leg. ( 1 lethal ) A rock sails past and beans it on the side, but it isn't deterred. The spear draws her further up, over the floorboards...
Katters lets go of the spear, latching instead to the thing that’s got her leg, its teeth goring her as she twists. She wraps her arms around its torso, digging her claws in wherever they can find purchase, and biting it in return.
The thing yelps, releasing Katters' leg on accident as it backs up and tries to shake her free, rearing up onto its hind legs, grabbing like a person... Then a harsh sound from the spearholder prompts it back onto the ground, ears bleeding much like Katters' are from the unnatural boom... There's a scream from the pit as the spear descends in.
Katters kicks at the thing, letting go with all teeth and claws, launching herself over and away from it.
She manages to hit the splintered, ruined wood of the hut's floor, scraping her skin on it, but free... for the moment. The hounds are snarling, turning, and the voice booms, loud and resonant in her ears.
To be more specific... You know the building seemed to be destroyed, but... now it looks like all you can see are walls, walls that ascend into the sky. They weren't there a moment ago, it's like you blinked and the world changed all around you...
In her panic, Katters doesn’t even notice the walls until she’s run into one of them. She claws at it, leaping like she thinks she can climb up and over, before dropping and putting her back to it. She looks, frantic, for another way out — for any way out.
The creature's voice booms again, sending blood dripping from Katters' ears and nose, running hot and thick down her skin. She feels the world warp, shake, with footsteps echoing like the war drums of some long-dead, nameless god. There's a sharp, bright pain piercing her shoulder, running white-hot through her veins..... then dark black-edged nothingness as she slips into unconsciousness. When she wakes next, it will be with a piercing pain and the smell of rich earth, moss, and herbs thick in the air.
