Possibly more evidence of Caroline's treachery? @Meagen Image you might be interested in this, dunno if you've seen it already! Spoiler I wonder why he has these issues, CAROLINE.
Won the showcase on my first fair! Wheee. I feel so accomplished. All the crops are gonna die in winter, right...? Does that mean I should be focusing on saving up for a barn, rather than the last community center money bundle? Wait no right my winter plan was to just go 'fuck it' and focus 100% on the mine, I remember now. Nevermind. ((If you marry Abigail, can you bring her into the mine with you? She wants an adventure.... I want to take her on adventures....... Match made in heaven))
Crops die in winter, yeah. Winter's a great time for mining, though! And you can still forage and, wit ha high enough foraging level, combine the items into winter seeds to plant and grow during the winter. Can't bring spouses on adventures yet, unfortunately. :(
If you unlock the greenhouse you can plant crops in winter too, but if not, I agree: mining! Also fishing. And of course throwing random gifts at villagers.
Oh, speaking of Pierre... Spoiler I found his "secret stash" in his bookcase apparently. You have the option to suggest he tell his wife. What kind of nasty shit you into, Pierre? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Seb told me that he gave up his motorcycle for being too dangerous on the same day I went out and bought a lava katana to fight dragons with.
Okay, seriously, why can't I catch a tilapia? I've caught like a hundred fish where and when the wiki says I should. Am I missing something?
I don't think it matters too much, ocean is ocean. I think I might have been on the west pier when I caught at least one of them, and it was definitely daytime.
It definitely doesn't happen just on the unlocked bit. I caught a tilapia on the pier. outside the shop about twenty minutes ago. You might have a limited time frame to catch them in, tho.
So, I've been playing this for the past three days now, right at the end of my first summer and I'm hooked. On the one hand, I am so disappointed Shane is not a suitor yet, and neither is Clint (I just love the shy I introverted bearded blacksmith let me love you Clint), but on the other hand I'm already crushing on Maru, Alex, Leah, Penny and Sebastian. And I don't think 'Town Bicycle' is an alternate marriage path. Sadly, neither is matchmaking so I can't even get them together with others and make sure they're happy (besides Clint and I don't think him and Emily get married, just date at ten hearts). Also, I want to buy Linus a house. Why did the abandoned shack at the edge of the river get that-selling rats? I could have fixed that up, given Linus a home he won't have destroyed by probably Morris every other day.
i think the general idea is that Linus doesn't really -want- a house. he kind of just wants to live in a tent and forage around to survive in the wilderness. though tbh they maybe should've made him live a bit farther out in the country to convey that idea better.
I get the impression the mountain is supposed to be pretty far out from the town, but with how all the distances are really compressed, it seems like its right there. I'm not sure if Linus wants to live in a tent, or if he's convinced himself he wants it. His dialogue gives me the impression of going either way (especially since at the heart level he says he likes living in a tent, he also insists he doesn't need friends). My personal interpretation is that he likes the independence but isn't so enamored of the uncertainty and hardships, or of being treated poorly by the townsfolk, and that he's lived out on his own for so long he's not sure how to re-enter society if he did want to.
my save file fell prey to a known bug. i lost all my game time. it was not a whole lot of game time - only 8 hours or so, i'd made it to mid-summer year 1 - but...that's hella demoralizing. and i pirated the game, because we're tight, and i should get my ass in gear and submit our tax refund and buy the damn game, because i really want to and it's worth a lot more than $15. i could play 20-40 minutes of it and leave it. it wasn't too much for my exdys - one day, two days, and i felt like i'd accomplished something. i'd reached lvl 40 in the mines. i'd leveled up to 3-4 of most of my skills. i was slowly becoming friends with people. augh.
so i found out this game's only for windows... anyone got ideas on how to play it on my mac in a way that doesn't involve partitioning my harddrive?
