Made myself a new game, this time a cute witchy woman to woo Shane~ Forest/gathering farm. Many of my beloved mods don't seem to be working in this update yet though. Bother. :(
Shane-romancing forestdweller fistbump! My dude is one of my Hawkes who in another life made bad relationship decisions and got left in the Fade. Let's see if his terrible taste in men works out better this time. :') That is an AMAZING house mod.
Heck yeah! You can do it, Hawke, I believe in you. Also for anyone who may be curious, cute witch house/furniture/broom instead of horse can be found >> HERE <<
Ohhh those are adorable! I think I'll have to cobble together something from those mods - I love the fairy house but I'm not thrilled with the idea of the other farm buildings looking just like it.
I've decided my farmer witch is the wizard's baby sister, a black sheep who prefers working with her hands as well as magic. She's going to change the town and help the people through her magical produce and kind heart a la Chocolat, and accidentally fall in love with a bitter, lonely man who needs help MOST OF ALL. ...I'm not the only who comes up with backstories for farmers, right? >_>
I had started again because I wanted to see what the forest house looked like, fell n love with it, and now my character is a half-dryad who was slowly dying in the city but has come to be super healthy and flourish in the valley. Headcanon that she was super sickly and thin on arrival, and now in winter her skin matches the green of character creation and she's plumped out and got some wicked muscles going for her. Shane is a very real character, huh >.> Relateable much.
@Ruevian dammit you've made me come up with slight personas i'll expand on while playing for the other three runs I want to do (I say, not having beaten a singular fucking year in my first one) for reference, for those interested, currently im playing a "me" run through (<two links there), marrying SHANE, and the other three I want to do Emily, sebastian, and Leah, with the current vague personas hot lesbian, cute pastel magic bro-nb, and country bumpkin girl, respectively.
yesssss, tell me the stories of all your farmers and possibly post pictures so I can draw them when I have motivation
Spoiler: spoiler? It's a private dance that she rehearsed for months said it's for my eyes only it's so gay rue.so gay. m'farmer
My most successful farmer is Jackson, a former hipster from the big city who initially got into this whole farming business because he thought artisanal goods were very trendy and cool but never thought more into it than that. Only to realize that farming is really hard, and it takes a long time, and holy shit, I made this honey. I built a bee hive and tended a field of flowers and prepped and cleaned and filled jars filled and this honey is made. I made this. He grew up from being moderately useless and a little spoiled into being the most productive person in Stardew Valley. He married Alex a little after the evaluation, wanting to support his goals on becoming a football star and giving him a massive plot of land to grow and practice on, so he was surprised when Alex decided to become a stay-at-home dad instead. Still, he's making sure their children and Alex have to want for nothing and dotes on them every morning and night. That being said, Jackson is still a hipster at heart, and while their daughter was named Clara after Alex's late mother, their son is named Zebediah because it sounds totally radical. All of the farm animals have normal human names like Susan, Rebecca, and Charlie, but the fucking baby is Zebediah. What the hell, Jackson. Jackson wears an eyepatch after passing out in the mines once, with me headcanoning that he lost an eye and is moderately scarred up on the left side of his face as well as his left arm (flying dragon attack). He's not good at fighting, but he's a moderately good fisher and really good at growing crops. I also have an older man as a farmer because I wanted to see if I could make an older person with the default settings. Tobias is in his late forties with greying hair, and actually might be the result of an adoption by his 'grandfather' at a very young age or his mother had a child very young, it's not been decided. But he really loves fishing and actually completed his fishing portfolio thing before the end of the second year, as well as recovering almost all of the artifacts (just missing the skeletal hand and the bone flute). He married Penny fairly quickly, after finding out about how bad her home life was. He dotes on her very much, giving her emeralds and flowers and fancy cheese every day, as well as keeping crops of lots of flowers growing. They have one child so far, a little boy named Josiah. Recently, I started a new save with a new farmer because I wanted to see all of the updates as they come first, before I go correct things on my other playthroughs. My current farmer is Cheryl Mason. Cheryl Mason. Fucking Silent Hill 3 protagonist, Cheryl Mason. She went to the farm not because Joja Inc is so humdrum and boring, but literally because she cannot cope with everything that happened to her when she was younger, and needs an escape. And while a tiny town out in the middle of nowhere sounds like a poor choice for her, it's actually the least amount of fog anywhere and maybe focusing on farm work and mining would make things a little easier than just going in and out of office cubicles and having a panic attack any time the weather was grey and foggy. So far, she's mostly focused on farming, fishing and foraging. Everything needs supplies, so chopping down wood is calming in a weird way. And digging up dirt and growing fruit and vegetables is also calming, as is spending time with her dog. She doesn't have many friends in town yet, because I am trying to optimize my profits and make a few hundred-thousand before the end of the year and then I can worry about making friends people are hard to deal with still, and even if the weird Yoba thing is a pleasant cult that is all about sunlight and space-fruit and no one actually seems to be hard-core believers, it's still a weird little cult and you know it pays to be a little careful around these things. But she likes Linus okay. Maybe he reminds her of Harry a bit, and she can appreciate that worry around people. And it's not like 'moving out to a farm in the middle of nowhere given by a relative who hasn't seen you since your first trip to Silent Hill' is that much different from just being a self-made hermit, living by a cave and fearing surprise rocks and shit. She's also getting a little close to Shane. The depression and self-loathing is something she can understand well. It's not something she's brought up herself, partly because she doesn't think he'd believe it, and partly because not talking about it makes it feel less real and more like a decade-and-a-half-long nightmare. But she does want to help him get healthy, maybe for the same reasons why she wants to get healthy too. Whatever happened to hurt them, neither of them deserved that. (She'll probably feel the same way about Penny, Alex and Kent in the future. She's not going to like Pam though, and will never trust the wizard even if she always keeps a spare prismatic shard when she finds out about the children-to-doves thing) (... It's a little cruel, but you'd understand if you had a dying fetal god, once. And it's cruel to do it, but if there's ever a chance she'd birth something horrible like that, she just wants to believe maybe it can be taken away, and she'd be the only one who'd have to think about it.) (Maybe Shane would be okay with not having kids. Maybe Jas is enough.)
I made the mistake of naming my new farmer after an OC. A spiteful, inconsiderate, impulsive, licentious pansexual, barely-this-side-of-megalomaniacal bitch of an OC. This has affected my playstyle in ways. All Bachelor/ettes are mine.
Note: my heart stopped in my chest for a second because I saw this picture here of Elliott and thought (because I'm very tired and should go to bed now) that he was holding a razor blade, not a feather pen, and I was about to see a Sweeney Todd AU. That's not so, but yes. Let's make all these husbands into murder husbands!!!
I did make a farmer styled and named (Dana) after my fem!Shep, if that counts. She lives at Earthworks farm (because she's Earthborn). I was going to have her be antisocial, but then I wondered "could I get a date for the Flower Dance on Year 1?" and long story short she and Haley are dating now.
I appreciate that it's labelled as creepy @.@ also why is kiss capitalized that makes it even creepier
It's so out of nowhere too, which just makes it worse. Like, what the hell, where is this coming from? Is this really the best "say something rude to Leah" line in this situation, either "PEOPLE NEAT", "CARVING NOT GREAT" or "SMOOCH SMOOCH NEAR STRANGER"
