It's been said before, but the cutscenes in this game are... not as state-dependent as I might like. Demetrius: Maru's a good kid. Me: Yeah, she's cool. Demetrius: My special little girl. Me: Uh, yeah... Wait, this isn't the "don't make my princess cry" talk, is it? Demetrius: I just wouldn't want anything to get in the way of her bright future. Me: I'm dating Seb. You know, pale guy, kinda gloomy, lives in your basement? Your other kid? Demetrius: ... Me: Wait, all those times I came over to make out with your stepson under your floorboards, did you assume I was here to see Maru? Did you, like, just forget Seb was even down there, or...? I picked the tactless dialogue option on purpose, as the closest analogue to what I really wanted, which was for Maru to come back in while I'm still laughing at her dad. The good news is, I'm sure Maru's bright future will be unimpeded by acquiring a farmer for a brother-in-law.
oh god that happened to me when i was befriending her and it was one of the most uncomfortable conversations any of my farmers have ever had. i was entirely amused tho.
I find I am powered by spite a lot, because when I got this conversation in my first play, I decided two things: 1. I am going to marry the shit out of Maru and she is going to be my farm-wife forever. 2. But first, I am going to make Demetrius love me. In that play through, I still haven't gotten through Winter 3, so I haven't married her yet (wanted to get all of the Bachelors/Bacherlorettes 10 hearts first, but giving up because it's taking too long) and Demetrius is my best friend. I'm doing it. I am stealing your baby girl, and you're going to accept it because I am awesome.
I really like that mossy stone fence! I was just thinking that I wanted a drystone dyke styled barrier on my next play through.
Fenceeeeees.... OuO I really want to get started on a rundown/witchy/eclectic building set, but I'm still kind of stuck on the house design since the door and walkable areas aren't flexible. I'm also thinking about making a metal stove/fireplace whatsit to replace the stone one with.
This is making me want to do some custom stuff, but man, I don't really have the time or the energy. Daaang... Everyone's work looks so good!
I can't sprite worth shit, so you guys who can really fuckin impress me. Mercury, if you make a wood burning stove to replace the fireplace I will seriously flip out with pure joy. One of the things I pine about in my actual meatspace home is the fact that I never got to refurbish the 1920s fireplaces in the bedrooms because damn. Stoves. Deco tiles. Do want.
