bless thank you ETA: the linked version seems to be incompatible, and the other linked one is officially loaded but... doesnt react. it's supposed to spawn a config file, too, but nope ::/ ETA2: Got it to work after an hour and a half of searching and re-checking
orange season is cute. i wish the characters had little portraits, and its kinda hard to get started. I'm only on day five so maybe more tutorial stuff turns up later. i'd really love a map, and maybe a guide to getting all the tools. i think it's kind of exploration and then fill in the blanks right now. also i have no idea where the dude tryna help me make tools went. its not the blacksmith. its not the carpenter. where are you, man? i need my axe fixed :(
it was the blacksmith, i just forgot how to check my tasks and he didn't remind me. also i found the mountain! i love the mountain. lots of gatherables and mining.
It's never just one mod. Currently 20 mods and 40 content packs deep and it's not even much in comparison to what some people on the sdv discord have... on an unrelated note, @IvyLB made me do it: Spoiler: weed mention
i just got stardew for the switch and the screen is so tiny. so tiny! i can't read anything. but it's pretty fun anyway. i don't think you can use mods on switch, so now i'm worried about the concept of 'friendship decay' because when do i even have time to run around socializing? i'm a farmer! farming is hard work! my farm is covered with weeds and rocks! i'm not here to liase! do egos need stroking? too bad, folks, stroke em yourselves. that said i'm gonna marry seb because he reminds me of seebs and that's a slam dunk in any dating game.
oh man yeah, technically you gotta talk to everyone every day and you just don't have enough *time* to do that also seb is a+ choice love this depressed goth disaster
please tell me i don't need to feed my cat. i can't find any cat food and i tried to give it a fish but the game just asked if i wanted to eat the fish myself.
nah, you dont need to feed the cat. i like to think it feeds off the rodents that try to go after your crops. you can water its bowl and that raises its friendship a bit more tho.
You don't need to feed your pet. It has a water bowl you can fill, but if the Switch port works like the PC version, it's 100% cosmetic. SV requires some deliberate prioritization when you start out to keep from getting overwhelmed. It doesn't feel nearly so hectic once you get into the rhythm of how the world works, but until then it feels really nuts because there's so much to do. (I can't remember how the relationship decay works, but iirc over the long term it didn't feel too harsh? It helps to not try to be friends with the whole town by the end of the first spring - just pick a few people you like best to focus on first.)
so far i've just been talking to everyone i literally run into as i'm rushing about my errands. and occasionally checking in on seb's house so he can give me blank stares and edge away. though recently i found him gazing byronically at the pond in the rain and he said something pithy instead of wondering why i was talking to him, so that was nice. i did not have a dialogue option for "hey i really admire your commitment to the aesthetic, sorry i'm covered in fish slime" but i am pretending it got said anyhow.
Once you get someone to a certain level of friendship, the decay stops - but that might only be an option for romantic partners. I do know that once you get married decay starts again and you have to give them gifts and stuff every day.
Bachelor(ettes) stop decaying at 8 hearts unless you marry them as vuatson noted; other villagers only stop decaying when they're maxed, if I recall correctly.
Thank goodness, I thought you had to max the bach as well and I didn't want to break that many hearts
so i could just become besties with one person at a time, and eventually we will all be besties together.
i feel like i should be able to woo seb by saying "damned unsporting of the almighty to have set his canon 'gainst self-slaughter." i mean, it worked for archie kennedy.
i didn't even try to get a date to the flower dance, but i went anyway just to say hi to people. i went and lurked under a tree with seb. "ugh," quoth he. and yet a moment later, there he was doing folk dances. what a nerd. he's so mine. if i can ever like... talk to him. or give him something he likes. i don't seem to be finding any suitably gothy items. concerning the fishing game: what? how does. what? ok but, no,,,, and also what?
reccomendation: get an easier fishing mod also you can google stardew sebastian and get a list of gifts he likes, eg, fruit tree fruit
i don't think you can use mods on the switch. i can't even tell what i'm trying to do. am i pressing a button? am i using the joystick? there's a bar that fills and empties, and a thing that swings wildly up and down, and then after a few seconds it makes a disappointed noise and tells me i failed. failed to do what?
