I usually wait till I have the greenhouse then plunk the trees in there since you can plant them on the borders/ that way they'll fruit all year round

i gave jethro the forest farm, and i found morels! i don't suppose there's any way to farm mushrooms? or to make seeds from your crops, for that matter, so you can save the gold star ones and only plant those?

also, the forest farm has lawn grass areas, is it possible to plant fruit trees on those? or only on the dirt areas?

Yeah, forest farm has berry bushes and you can find stuff from the secret woods there occasionally :3 I love that one, it's my Aesthetic

There is an item called the Seed Maker that you place a crop in and it spits out 1-3 seeds of that kind (or occasionally mixed seeds (bluh) or ancient fruit seeds (YAS)) You can craft it at Farming Level 9, or complete the Dye Bundle in the CCenter.

I don't think you can plant fruit trees on the grass patches ;/ Not certain though!

You have two choices for shrooms: when a villager makes an offer to you at a certain point, you either get a little room with half a dozen plots for planting shrooms, or a little room that occasionally spawns random fruit (including fruit tree fruit, which can be handy in the early game to complete certain bundles or as Loved gifts). Alternately, in Fall you could get lucky and see a 'mushroom tree' growing in your farm. If you put a tapper on it, you can harvest purple, red or common mushrooms at random off it (no morels or chanterelles, which you can plant if you get the mushroom cave option).

You actually can! I did my first game which.

isn't the best idea because then you aren't spawning the hardwood stumps. basically it's a tradeoff. and yeah, now days i grow them in the greenhouse but i usually splurge and plant two so i can make a jam jar and place in two fruits into the boxes then cut them down once i get the greenhouse,

i was just thinking, aesthetically, trying to keep bare dirt around them would be depressing, but 'mowing the lawn' under the orchard makes sense to my brain. since i have multiple areas of lawn, and multiple areas of dirt, i was thinking of reserving one of the smaller lawn areas for orchard, while letting the rest be forage and woodlot. since i'm planning to go with mostly lumberjacking and animal ranching, that means i'm using the bare spots for barns and growing fodder, and i can be making efficient use of the land without it looking clearcut, you know?

i forget how much sheep and wool are part of the scenario. i know i saw a 'loom' item that looks more like a spinning wheel, but i can't remember whether it's part of the artisan business or just for crafting items for your own use.

Artisan business, sadly, it would be cool to make things from it. Though I do wonder if anyone's made a mod to add in that sort of crafting.

it'd be so cool if you could make and sell clothes and furnishings!

are the little fetch quests important? because god they're annoying. i took one to bring harvey a daffodil, it said i had 2 days, he wasn't in his clinic the first day and i couldn't find him, second day i went to the clinic, gave him the daffodil, he said "oh what a nice gift" and i didn't get paid. HARVEY PAY FOR YOUR SHIT YOU'RE A DOCTOR YOU CAN AFFORD IT GODDAM.

i talked to seb in the rain and he expressed hope of seeing frogs. seb likes frogs. we are Destined.

how do you do stairs when you get them? do you build them on the deepest floor you've gone to or on each floor or what?

Stairs are temporary! They vanish after one use. The only way to get up and down to lower levels fast really is the elevator

they are if only u are like me and like achievements or if u want quick n fast extra cash. and there should be payment in the journal? it's kinda obtuse tbh, that the payment is in the journal

o! good to know! that is a lot of stone to spend this early in the game, and i'm glad you warned me.

Yeah, I keep one around in case of Emergencies early in the game, but that's it. Eventually you can become richer than god, buy a bajillion stacks of stone, and go to town! XD Or better yet, make the bigger bombs and use them to clear stone en mass to find stairs/holes + resources. I think it's only worth it though when a) you are richer than the aforementioned god, and b)

when you unlock the second dungeon with incredibly damaging enemies, where there are holes that let you skip multiple levels at a time

thank you it is good to be appreciate <3

what are some punny chicken names? i just got my first one and i named it roo because it's too smol for more than 3 letters but i reserve the right to give further chickens larger names.

how long does it take one chook to eat a hay?

i chose 'forester' and upgraded my axe, now am making MAD BANK on hardwood stumps.

1 hay per chicken per day, regardless of age, except for the very first day and, oddly, holidays. Letting them out to eat grass works much better, when practical. 1 tile of grass will feed two chickens directly but on average only makes one hay.

I probably don't have any chicken names you'll like. My mom had chickens when I was of a size to be bullied by chickens, and I'm still bitter. I name them all things like "Evilbeak".

i have so much grass because i do not find watering beans very fulfilling and don't plant very many seeds. so i leave the coop door open, and as i'm going around chopping stumps and all, i see the grass moving as if something's hiding in it, and i go to see if it's my cat, and surprise! it's roo! roo looks very happy today! and i died of cute. i'm typing this posthumously.
