not yet, updates for iOS etc require a complicated lengthy certification process, they're using the PC version and its abilty to update fast as almost a beta for the mobile and console versions
That'll happen. Edit: winter goes by particularly fast because you have no crops to water/harvest and animals stay indoors.
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4922?tab=description This mod is basically wizardry. It's a shader for Stardew Valley that makes sprites smooth and high-definition. As in, it creates a smooth, crisp, new sprite every time a fresh sprite is loaded. It's fast and gorgeous and compatible with just about anything, although if you run Windows you may need to look in the comments section for the link to the video that explains how to make your virtual memory pages a reasonable size to avoid out-of-memory errors. (Not a SpriteMaster problem, a Windows problem that causes errors in lots of things.) ETA: It has one incompatibilty and that is LavaPulse's chickens, which do the deeply weird and concerning thing of constantly reloading their sprites, bloating logs and outpacing SpriteMaster's ability to create new sprites. I bug-reported it because...seriously even if intended that's a bug
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Secrets#Cheat i tried this exploit on my mobile game just out of curiosity. it works, and my character is stupid rich and never has to water crops. but it seems to cause some bugs, like when i try to go to bed i am already in my bed and can't get into it. not that i actually want to play a game with no challenge and my character name being bracket numbers. but if you want to try out things that would require you to have a lot of money the first year, there's a way to do it.
https://community.playstarbound.com/threads/quality-artisan-products.158963/#post-3356549 i made a mod! requires the Producer Framework Mod mod. I should link that in the description probably. it's a content pack for this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4970 and it makes the artisan goods quality system make more sense! now Large Milk will yield 2 Cheese, Large Eggs will yield 2 Mayo, the flower type of a honey affects the price and name of Mead, and input quality affects output quality so higher-quality inputs become higher-quality outputs. Compatible with Automate if you install the PFMAutomate bridge mod!
so i want to use mods with my mac version, and have downloaded smapi and a few mods, and then... i can't find a folder to put them in. the only place stardew would install was 'macintosh hd', and the applications folder it went in doesn't have any sub folders, only executables. i know there must be some kind of folder somewhere, but i can't for the life of me find anything i can open and put stuff into. pls advise.
I think I remember being able to find saves etc. by going through Steam - there’s an option to “inspect game files” or something along those lines. you right click on the game in your library and it’s somewhere under preferences, if I remember right, but my mac died about a year ago and I haven’t used one since so my memory is hazy.
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Game_folder Make sure you install SMAPI before trying to find your mods folder; SMAPI is what makes the mods folder. Just run the installer and it'll handle everything else itself. I know that Windows SMAPI tells you the filepath to it and the filepath to its mods folders in installation but that's partially for Steam launch option reasons, and Mac SMAPI renames the game executable to Stardew-Backup or something instead.
i apparently had to do it through the terminal window. i just handed it to seebs and was like "make the thing happen" so i have mods now. :)
I recently installed it on the 'new' computer, and started with a fresh file. Rushed my way into the first winter, which I'm now halfway through and doing prep stuff for the upcoming spring. 1 - this is the first time i've played with a mouse with a functional scroll wheel, and the ability to cycle through items means not having to remove hand from wasd, which i expect will help with the more difficult dungeons a lot 2 - i found a golden scythe in a cave with spooky flying skulls, and took it, and i think i'm now cursed because randomly when i'm traveling in the lower levels of the mines it'll suddenly be spooky skull time instead of lava slime time 3 - winter festival is a nice touch, and the ability to buy spring seeds ahead of time is useful as heck 4 - i think i want to find a mod for more clothes items, i have this skeleton shirt but where are the skeleton pants? the gloves? the boots? let me be a skeleton
Stardew is truly a resilient game, as evidenced by the fact that I just accidentally replaced the character sprite files with xnb character portrait mods, and it continued to function just fine with these giant faces going through their walk cycles in cutscenes
how to fix the giant faces: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Reset_your_content_files you might find an alternative that flatout can't be made to do that by accident here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Using_XNB_mods#Alternatives_using_Content_Patcher
Oh, no, it was a simple fix! I try to be good about storing my backup original files in a safe location, for exactly this reason
XTREME chibi thought about trying smapi out on this laptop but that effooort and my grandmas internet is a tad slow for downloads
I haven't yet seen a skeleton outfit mod anywhere, to my astonishment. So I'm thinking about whether to make a set
I've found that one of the big difficulties with making complicated outfits is that there are so few pixels to work with. The default farmer pants are only 8 pixels wide! They also have an absolute shitton of animation states -- at quick estimate, over 200 each. Whew. No wonder there are so few bottom options. Shoes are a part of the base sprite, and only look different when you wear different shoes because of a color overlay. Having a different pattern or shape requires altering the base sprite, and that means every shoe is going to have that pattern and shape. There aren't any distinct glove items to modify/add to and I haven't seen any mods along those lines yet. Arms and hands are part of the base sprite, so it might be a case of being able to somehow make them pick up color in the same way shoes do, but then your farmer would always be wearing gloves. @bornofthesea670 if it helps, SMAPI is less than 2mb, and most mods much smaller. If you can load most websites in a reasonable amount of time, downloading those mods will be no strain on your connection.
If I remember correctly Get Glam allows for Kisekae-style multiple shoe types. It certainly allows for a hilariously large number of skin colours; over 4000 as opposed to the base game's...20?
