Unpopular opinion but halla being dainty deerlike creatures is Wrong
Unpopular opinion but Catniss should find another place to take her nap
I don't want to ever have to side with the templars ever but Champions of the Just is a much better quest than In Hushed Whispers because... the use of time travel in inquisition... is bad.
huh, i always felt IHW was by far the stronger of those two quests.
I just think the way they introduced time travel to the setting was kinda clunky, and makes things needlessly... weird? CotJ doesn't have to deal with something which the only explanation is a handwavey "the breach did it!". I have a few headcanons to try and fix things but it was just not handled very well, especially with how Dorian and the quizzy can come back to the split point pretty easy. If they wanted time-travel to be a thing it would have been better imho if it were written as a longer part of the game which had more impact overall, but no; it's just some weird magic that comes out of nowhere, lasts all of fifteen minutes and then is never spoken of again. The more I think about it, the more I think it was just not such a good execution. the Envy Demon's mindfuckery at least has been established before and is more self contained than super special impossible magic thing being solved so... easily.
I mean, the only PTs where I didn't recruit the mages were Narcissist Noblewoman Maxine Trevelyan and Lyrium Smuggler Petra Cadash's, so i might be just way too familiar with IHW.
I wanna play FO4 but i got lost after the first quest and now my inventory is full of junk. help me this is skyrim all over again
Like, I feel there is no valid justification for going to the Templars instead of the Mages in DAI not because of emotional reasons but for, like, practical reasons - you have an openly hostile force dealing with weird magic stationed in your doorstep, anyone with two functioning braincells is going to go check it out instead of trying to court the favor of an organization that has already pretty clearly told you to piss off. The situation surrounding IHW is way more solid than CotJ but goddamn was the use of time travel a weak strategy
It's such a shame too because imo Calpernia is a much more compelling and interesting character than Samson if you look at it from any other way than from a perspective centered around Cullen and/or Hawke. Samson is just... mostly a selfish asshole who went completely out of control. All of the reveals about Calpernia are like emotional gutpunches and the fact that she actually just drops the fight and turns on Corypheus if you reason with her is??? So good??? I adore Calpernia. And Ser Barris. I wish IHW and the results from it didn't feel so much like 'yeah uh... fanservice? fanservice????? have all these characters you may know about from the novels and DA2?? That's it, right, don't gotta do more.'
which is weird considering Cole is technically a character from one of the novels as well, but his introduction never felt as 'winkwink nudgenudge it's that character you like from that book you read. Isn't that fun and cool' as fiona doing her whole nonsense thing. Not that she ever actually does do much besides stand there and be interactable. why does fiona just basically do nothing to contribute to the story beyond Being Around. Give me a cutscene between her and the Wardens dangit.
Maybe it's just that I could not give less of a shit about Samson though :P
But yeah Chronomancy is uh... a tad weird. Could've used a bit more set-up/consequence/focus. Especially given CotJ is actually woven into Cassandra's Personal Quest too, while IHW just kind of.... floats there not doing anything.
In my ideal world (read: the fanfic that I have been wanting to write for four years) you'd still have to deal with the other fiction's general, but in a... less focused way? The vessel would still be the one you didn't pick, but hey, I allied with the mages and I still have to fight Venatori, there's no reason to not have Calpernia around. It would just be a smaller questline than the one for the Vessel.
yeah that's 100% the route I would go/go with the double-inquisitor shared universe I have with @TwoBrokenMirrors bc Andy went to get the mages while brejan recruited the templars so there's like no reason there wouldn't be both generals to deal with
Today is a day of INTENSE UNEXPLAINED LOWER BACK PAIN
The lower back pain was probably my sciatic nerve acting up btw. I have such incredibly sharp hip bones and such incredibly little ass that this is a common occurrence but never for that long or that intensely lmao I though I had kidney stones
Idrilla has absolutely zero reason to go to the templars even without counting the tevinter slavers but I choose to believe Cole brought a group of decent templars with him and that's why Ser Barris still exists. As for calpernia, [Margegoingijustthinkshesneat.jpeg]
My favorite non essential templar is still my Ser Elise, from Verchel, the mild mannered elfblooded accountant who just wants to quit the order and open a restaurant with her future girlfriend, but Ser Barris is nice.
I just saw a video of a guy making croissants and I really wanna make them but I'd need either a cold chamber or to wait for the three days in the year when butter doesn't instantly liquefy when taken out of the freezer and this is so sad
i bought shoes online for the melon but the payment wasn't getting approved on my credit card for some reason so i cancelled the order and bought them again on paypal but the order had already changed status to 'order processed' even without payment confirmation so: a) which one is the truth b) i may have gotten my husband TWO pairs of the same shoes
which isn't bad because his best shoes that arent combat boots are only coming apart at the sides so like. maybe him having two wearable shoes would not be so bad but i do feel a little overzealous
Plans for dec 24: Red velvet cupcakes with strawberry and white chocolate ganache filling and white chocolate and cream cheese frosting, topped with red sprinkes and a strawberry for the family potluck? There'll be 12 to 15 people and I have a thing of 30 matching fancy cupcake... cups, and about 100 of the nonfancy variety, so I can make a lot of cupcake, I guess. OR i can make just one big cake, but I think the cupcakes would be cuter??? idk????????
I vote for individual cupcakes and oh my GOD those sound good
