i thought i was done with work. so i gathered up my files and opened up my email to send them off and discovered my client had sent yet more work and now im not done 3:< and i have another hour and a half of stuff to do. weh
My father sent me an email about some study that shows journalists brains function at a lower level than average. Because "fake news" or whatever. I deleted it without even opening it like I usually do, but the title of the email made me angry.
Considering a journalist must have made the article, by definition of "journalist", I'm surprised that even exists.
8:02- mom asks me to warm the car up for her. I tell her I can do that, I just have to go upstairs to get shoes. 8:03- I go upstairs to get shoes. 8:04- I come back downstairs. I go to the kitchen and start making toast. 8:05- mom comes down and is justifiably upset that I'm in the kitchen making toast. I forgot to go to the car. I forgot something within five minutes. I am a piece of shit. I want to be a robot. I am not good enough as I am.
So I read the article, and its about journalists having trouble with executive function. He knows I'm self diagnosed autistic why the fuck would he send this to me. Edit: it's clear now he didn't even read the article. It's about them not functioning because they don't take care of themselves/feel like they can't take breaks. Which is something I'm going through right now because I've been working later. Why is my father such an asshole. http://www.businessinsider.com/journalists-brains-function-at-a-lower-level-than-average-2017-5
I was told by my boss that the schedule for today was the same as saturday, ie the guy whose job includes letting my department do things in a less stressful way would be here at the usual time. Apparently, according to someone from his dept who isnt actually working today but was here to do a little work anyway, nobody is supposed to be in but me! I mean that's how it is for the first 4 hours of my shift but then i can relax a little when he gets in because i don't have to arrange things half an hour ahead of time, i can have more wiggle room because he coordinates some other stuff. This is all very vague i know but yeah. So tldr someone has the day off and i didnt realize it, relied on him getting in 3-5 minutes before the deadline as usual, and he wasnt here so something went slightly but noticeably-to-customers wrong.
I got a new pair of shorts, and on day one of wearing them I got some mustard on them. Hope the stain comes out. Why must mustard be so delicious?
Apparently nobody is monitoring the urgent maintenance request system at the apartments because nobody came to fix my AC yesterday, nor did anyone even call back. Called them this morning when live humans were in the office. Explained problem. Explained that I called the gotdam urgent maintenance line twice yesterday and didn't get so much as a call back. And of course it is thunderstorm today. The unit is on the roof. The maintenance dude cannot work on it while it is thunderstorm. I told the live human I understood this, but if it got to be like 4:30 and looked like he wasn't going to be able to do it today, to please call me so I can grab a portable AC from walmart or get a room at the La Quinta and not get home to a 90-degree apartment at 8 or 9 at night and end up having to deal with Walmart or a hotel when I'm already dragging ass from working until 8 or 9. Smart money says I get no call and get home at 8 or 9 and find my AC still blowing lukewarm air.
Friends crowing about fitness gains on FB while I can barely sit upright due to constant, crushing physical pain.
Need to check voicemail at work. Can't hear a damn thing because of chainsaws right outside the building.
so a friend of moms I haven't seen in a while came into the store while I was working. Last time I saw him, he told me I'd gained weight. He just did it again. I mean. I'm not that fat, right? Spoiler I'M FAT AND UGLY AND FAT
My sister wanting to do laundry has become something that's a problem. Oh my fucking god. Fucking Christ.
i mean i know that this job involves being on call all the time but why am i being asked to digest and summarize a document when i'm about to go to bed, 18 hours after i woke up i mean i got it done but in the morning we're going to need three versions because reasons ive asked Somewhat Tech-Illiterate Coworker to help and uh he's having problems or something and hasn't responded when i asked him to read over my document dude please tell me if it's coherent. even though you were partying all weekend or whatever, i'm betting you're more awake than me
