NO! said whimsys mother, latin is very complicated and has much grammar and i can help you with french and send you to lausanne and youll be good with french like me, after i was in lausanne my evil evil french teacher who hated everyone couldnt drop my marks that badly any more! and if you take latin you need to start learning it now!
and because little whimsy was afraid of their mom, they took french. and HATED EVERY DAMN FUCKING SECOND OF IT SERIOUSLY I FUCKING HATE FRENCH ITS A GROSS LANGUAGE THAT LOOKS AND SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE IS POURING SLIME DOWN MY EAR CANALS AUUUUUUGGHHHH

four of latins 5.5 cases are already present in my native language
LEARNING ONE MORE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT. I COULDVE DONE THAT. I WAS MADE BELIEVE LATIN WAS AN ARCANE LANGUAGE WITH COMPLETELY STRANGE AND UNINTUITIVE CASES. THIS WAS A LIE.
AND I REALLY COULDVE USED LATIN IN ONE OF THE CLASSES IM TAKING THIS SEMESTER.

Not annoying: people standing on the bus when there are free seats
Annoying: people standing in front of the free seats and giving you annoyed looks when you ask to get by.

 

super petty: this one reporter/anchor on the evening news has this weird repetitive sort of cadence to her delivery and its kind of distracting actually? i end up with half my attention on how she's reading the news and half on what she's actually saying. however its her job and im sure she'll get more natural sounding with practice, but gah it bugs me.

#actually a bunch of the younger reporters have that sort of repetitive delivery? #but im trying to not be too critical #since i also need to work on varying my delivery when i have to read stuff #which isnt often lol #buti wonder what her answer would be if asked why she puts on that odd nasal voice for the news? #ive heard her just talking normally #but like i said i also do some of the same weird putting-on-a-voice things when im reading

 

one of my new charger cords for my ipad started glitching unexpectedly today and i have no idea what's up with that

 

my sister borrowed my charging cord block yesterday and has yet to return it

been feeling really tired and out of sorts these last few days

 

A comedy of errors:

Last night: accidentally pick up tablet while it's still plugged in, clothesline everything else off that small table. Including my phone. Instead of landing on soft carpet like everything else has the decency to do, it does a faceplant right on the pointy bit of a 10-pound hexagonal dumbbell and the screen shatters. It's got tiny needly bits of glass falling out of it and is completely unresponsive to touch input now. Great. Good news is, it's on the store-brand Sprint service from Kroger and you could just get the phones at the grocery store. Pull SD card out, put in safe place, wait til morning.

This morning: go to nearest Kroger. No iwireless phones. Go to next nearest Kroger. No iwireless phones. Go to third nearest Kroger. No iwireless phones. WHAT THE HELL MAN.

Ask girl at courtesy booth what's up with this. "Oh, we stopped carrying them a while back."

Yes, Kroger has stopped carrying the hardware for THEIR OWN DAMN PHONE SERVICE. Exactly the sort of brilliant decision-making I'd expect from a store where you can openly carry a gun but you can't bring in a propane tank. Anyway.

Got a new phone, new carrier, got to keep my old number. I hadn't backed up my contacts to the SD card in a while so I'm going to be "new phone, who dis"ing at some people for a few days, but that's fine. New carrier is actually slightly cheaper and phone is way better than the old one, so there's that too.

Epilogue: Not really expecting any satisfaction, I e-mailed iwireless and said "look, I JUST PAID for airtime this month and now I can't use it because I can't buy a phone in person and can't wait for one to be shipped, I'd like a refund." THEY ACTUALLY GAVE ME THE REFUND. And explained that they pulled the stock from the physical stores so they could "offer a wider selection online." I looked at the website and the entirety of their "wider selection" is a total of seven models, four of which are refurbs. Pull the other one, it has got bells on.

 

was up late last night and did not manage to sleep in at all :T

situation remains pretty crummy

 

a couple things:

my sister keeps using her vape in the house, even though the lease clearly says no smoking in the house and i have told her this repeatedly. i'm not trying to be naggy but we could get in a lot of trouble... the landlord is really particular and wouldn't hesitate to boot us on the smallest thing. she keeps saying she'll stop but does it again anyways.

speaking of the lease, he still hasn't given a copy to my mom and she needs it to prove to the food stamps and medicaid people that she's paying as much rent as she says she is (which is quite a bit, we're just scraping by).

 

Dad came into my room (without my permission) to try and get my cat to stop being scared of him and then brought the other cat in with him to try and get my cat to stop being scared of him and then my cat got a little stressed out and went off to hide somewhere

I'm mostly fine with this because I was there to make sure things didn't go too far and my cat didn't react negatively (well, she was a bit wary) until the very end when she decided to hide from them

But now he's trying to come in here again with the other cat (who, incidentally, is prone to harassing my cat until she yowls and runs away and then we have to separate them) and got all offended when I said, "no, not right now"

Now he's come back again as I'm writing this to talk about "my house, my rules" and how it's his Right or whatever to come bother my cat whenever he wants to

Yes, because repeatedly pushing against her boundaries is the right way to get her to ease up on those boundaries, this will definitely work and not make her even more skittish around you

Meanwhile, I'm trying to get some work done and I told him I was trying to get some work done and it is very hard to get any work done when someone keeps barging into my room or sulking in the hall

 

i'm getting a migraine. for the fifth night in a row >8(

 

dammit I didn't get to the library in time to pick up my books on hold. >_<

 

I just scratched my butt with my wet glitter-fied nails.
